Dark Souls isn't a game series that people quite like. It's not a game that people think of as being sort of okay. It's like Marmite - if Marmite gave you the most intense spiritual experience of your life before knifing you in the clavicle. Over the years Miyazaki's magnum opus has gathered some of the most dedicated fans in all of fandom, despite its merciless, brutal reputation.
So expect to see a pretty sizable mob of said fans in Manchester's EventCity for the Play Expo on the 10th and 11th of October, for it is there that Dark Souls III will get to claim its first victims in a fully playable demo.
Miyazaki himself is all very excited about the new Battle Arts system featured in the new game, which apparently 'adds a new layer to the combat system'.
We suspect this new layer will be mostly made from spiked chains drenched in acid. What do you think? Big Dark Souls fan? Tell us how many times you've died in this furious, glorious series!!
