At long last the moment has arrived. We've been waiting for Assassin's Creed Syndicate system requirements like only the greatest assassins can, listening out for the merest whisper of their whereabouts. The console version's been and gone already, and so now it's finally our turn to find out the PC gaming hardware we're going to need to play Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
After last year's Assassin's Creed Unity caused quite a stir with its mammoth system requirements, all eyes are inevitably on the sequel. Throw enough hardware at Unity and it's still one of the best looking games in existence, and unless Ubisoft has scaled things back here for Assassin's Creed Syndicate, we expect it to be no different. Gather your flaming pitchforks then and check out the official Assassin's Creed Syndicate system requirements.

Last year Assassin's Creed Unity cause quite a stir with its sky-high system requirements. We went and saw Assassin's Creed Syndicate a few months ago we said it was looking visually worse than its predecessor, and that's borne out in the system requirements.
AC Syndicate's minimum system requirements actually taken a drop overall. The Intel Core i5-2400S and the AMD FX 6350 CPUs are a minor step up in fact, but it's the graphics cards which see the biggest changes. Last year Ubisoft reckoned you'd need a GTX 680 or Radeon HD 7970. This has plummeted to a GTX 660 or Radeon R9 270, suggesting Assassin's Creed Syndicate is far friendlier to mid-tier gaming PCs.
Check out the recommended system requirements for Assassin's Creed Syndicate and you'll again see a dip in GPU demands. CPU, RAM and installation size remain totally identical, but Ubisoft now recommend a far weaker set of graphics cards than the GTX 780 and R9 290X AC Unity demanded. Ubisoft ha presumably scaled the visuals down a bit, and make use of that trademark thick London fog to pull in the draw distance.
One thing of note is the bizarre Nvidia requirements. On the one hand Ubisoft says a 4GB GTX 760 is perfectly fine for recommended, but on the other it's also pushing the newer, more expensive, and much more powerful GTX 970. That's probably a result of Ubisoft cosying up to Nvidia once more, with a suite of exclusive Nvidia GameWorks features also packed in. This includes Temporal Anti-Aliasing (TXAA), Ambient Occlusion (HBAO+), Soft Shadows (PCSS), and G-Sync support.
