Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, one of the finest console RPGs yet to grace the shores of PC land, is set to arrive in January, all HD-ified and no doubt packing in mountains of post-launch DLC and assorted gubbins. Since landing on PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012, it’s become something of a cult favourite. I guess the easiest way to imagine how Capcom’s action-RPG plays is to think of it exactly how it is - a Japanese RPG inspired by Western role-playing. Final Fantasy by way of The Elder Scrolls.

Up until now Capcom’s been pretty coy about showing us gameplay footage, but in this new four minute gameplay demo we can see precisely what it’s going to look like. Beware - this is very much a seventh gen game, but we do at least get the opportunity to push the resolution right up for better image quality.

I do like the way this is a bit of an unashamed look at the gameplay, warts and all. This is a decent look at precisely how Dragon’s Dogma will play on PC. It looks as if it’s been created with controller play in mind though, including those on-screen prompts, so you might be best dusting off that Xbox 360 gamepad.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is pencilled in for a January 2016 launch, which should help us get through that darkest of months, with wind and rain battering the doors. Unless you’re from the 80% of the globe that’s still hot right now, you lucky sods.

I'm really excited about this game. I tried playing it on PS3, but the framerate just tanked all the time and it was just annoying, so I never finished it. Hopefully Capcom gives us a quality port.

I was so happy when I heard it was being ported to PC! :) I just hope it will have a good control scheme for mouse and keyboard, playing with a controller isn't my thing!
