Gears Of War 4 Is Coming To PC According To Game UK Listing

In terms of upcoming game releases we don’t yet know about, Game UK has probably got a pretty good inside track. It’s the UK’s largest game retailer and it seldom throws up the wrong listings. Which is why it’s rather intriguing to find out it’s listing Gears of War 4 as also coming to PC.

We already know Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is coming to PC in all its up-ressed glory, but this could well be just the start of Microsoft’s cover-based shooter franchise finding a new home. The Ultimate Edition would be the perfect game to test the waters and see if PC gamers are receptive to a new Gears, which is why we could see this as a distinct possibility.

Game UK lists Gears of War 4 as a 2016 launch, assuming The Coalition don’t hit any snags along the way, when it will arrive on Xbox One, but “also available on… PC DVD”.

Retailers often make mistakes of course, but I haven’t known Game to make incorrect listings recently. They’re certainly privy to private information like this, and it would be an interesting development on Microsoft’s part.

Microsoft’s head of gaming Phil Spencer has repeatedly said they plan on bringing more titles to PC, but he said at E3 that it would take time to see the fruits of this particular venture. Gears of War 4 seems like the obvious choice if Microsoft were to start anywhere with cross-platform launches.

Would you be interested in Gears 4 if it hit PC? Any other Xbox exclusives you'd like to see make the jump?

Well SarthaK07, I don't know about you, but the possibility of GOW 4 ever coming to PC was completely excepting to me. I agree with Nipplecracker132 (lol) that down-vote was utterly unnecessary, people should be able to share their opinions with out being attacked for it.

I'd personally like that, it'd be very nice as I had a 360 last gen and played Gears 1, 2 & 3 A LOT but there's no way I'm buying an Xbox One anytime soon so yeah it'd be great if it did, would love to see a new Gears @1080p/60.

I think MS, should allow all xbone exclusive games on PC and just make them give microsoft a small split of the profits. I mean why wouldn't they want to ?

Dear Microsoft,
You did a great job atlast.
Here are some recommendation-
1) Close your console business
2) Force developers to optimize games if they want to launch it for windows.
3) Remove all bugs from windows 10 and give us more freedom like on windows 7.

Do it and Sony's console buisness is all done.
Only noobs will get a console :D
And you will make heck a lot profit :D

I'd also add:
4) Start an educational campaign that a PC can ALSO be connected to a TV and played with a GAMEPAD (you know..the usual moot point that consolers make against PC that they allegedly can't enjoy games on a sofa...bullplop!)

Anytime one of my local friends says something about not liking games on PC because they can't kick back & relax with a controller I just take my laptop to their house & hook it up to their TV. The look on their face is priceless when you boot up Steam in Big Picture mode & hand them a controller.

I would love to see Xbox exclusives on PC. However if they are just direct ports with no extra graphical options, & with added performance issues due to poor optimization then no thanks. Also the other thing that really pushes me away is the fact that they will all most likely require Windows 10 to play. I hate Microsoft's all out push to get everyone on Windows 10 when Windows 7 is still the most stable OS for gaming. They need to add Dx12 support to Windows 7

How is Windows 7 "the most stable OS for gaming"? I have not noticed any crashes or whatnot when gaming. The only downside is with legacy Direct 3D (DX8 and below) being software-emulated now, but that was going on with Win 8 as well (for that reason I have an old lappy running Win7 for those legacy games), which is not really a burden for the vast majority anyway.
Your choice, ofc, but just want to know the reasoning behind calling it the most stable.

Because it is the only OS available right now that ALL of my games work on. I had Windows 8 & 8.1 for awhile, but that was a nightmare with compatibility. I haven't tried Windows 10 yet, but I have seen the several lists of games that don't work properly on Windows 10 either. I have some games on that list so I stand by my original comment of Windows 7 being the most stable for gaming at this time.

Would be interesting to see that list of yours. Whatever I tried so far I haven't had issues on either Win8 or 10, except for those very old legacy games (OpenGL works fine, tho').

But I also do not have a single problem with windows 10.
But no big improvement except dx 12.

Too many of the games I own are listed as incompatible with Windows 10 right now. If that ever changes then I may change my opinion. However those same problems never got fully ironed out of Window 8 or 8.1 either so I am not going to hold my breath. Until games stop having Windows 7 64-bit listed as the minimum OS I have no good reason to swap to Windows 10.

Yes I can. I still have 3 laptops & a desktop all using Windows 7. I have no plans on swapping from Windows 7 on any of them.

I was just being dramatic & sarcastic with my comment about just becoming a console gamer. If anything I will end up getting a whole new rig with the next gen of PC hardware being released next year. That will be when I try Windows 10. It will be on a whole new machine & I will only install games that I know work well with Windows 10.

Here are a few

Alan Wake
The game won't run for some users. A directory error appears.

Batman: Arkham Origins
Reduced performance over time for some users.

Left 4 Dead 2
There are sound and video issues for some users. Driver crashes also appear.

Sleeping Dogs
Nvidia display driver issues are affecting some users.

Star Wars Battlefront 2
Unplayable for some users.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
The game crashes after opening video for some users.

Those are just a few games right off the top of my head that are listed as having issues that I own. Battlefront 2 is a big one for me because I still play it fairly often. there are several more, but I don't remember them all. Once I made it to 10 or more of my games listed as potentially screwed up on Windows 10 I just stopped searching & decided to not get Windows 10 on this laptop. I will get Windows 10 when I get my next PC.

I think this list of yours may be outdated. You can't list 'driver crashes' today - they're solid. May have been the case at launch when drivers WERE crap, but a few months down the line and I haven't had a single problem.

Don't forget that 'some users' is the key here. The same 'Some users' on steam can't even get simple games to run on their dated hardware or screwed up drivers. I would simply not trust this list.
I'll try the games I've noted above and I can bet you that every single one will run 100% fine.

Well we have almost identical hardware so if they work for you then they should work for me. If you don't mind send me a pm after you test a few of those games. The games I listed above are games I own that are listed as having issues on Windows 10. There are several big lists of problematic games for Windows 10 available via a google search. Well over 100 games listed via different lists. I have like 15 to 20 of the games on those lists so I have been just avoiding Windows

Oh & the games I listed here are from a September 2015 article. So maybe they work better now after a few driver updates have dropped, or maybe they don't. There have only been like 3 official nVidia drivers released since those games were listed as having issues with Windows 10.

Again, I would strongly believe there's more of a problem with the end users' hardware and drivers as opposed to Windows. if it was Windows - the problems would occur for EVERYONE, or at least MOST of the people.
I bet it's just a case of the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy, where people draw premature conclusions around what they want to, targeting Windows upgrade instead of their system. Plus the factor of clean installs being 10000x better than upgrade path (which is a mess)
