Just weeks after we've been spoiled by The Witness' insanely lovely low-poly visuals, along comes Firewatch to wow us all over again. Campo Santo's narrative adventure game has been attracting some serious interest throughout its development, and with good reason. Firewatch is a mysterious first-person game set deep in the Wyoming wilderness. Taking on the role of a park ranger, you must explore these lands, uncovering the mystery bit by bit.

Tough decisions are going to have to be made in this branching narrative, with some of the minds behind The Walking Dead, Mad Men and Gone Home coming together to deliver Firewatch. Before you get on your ranger outfit and head to work though, make sure to check out the Firewatch system requirements so you know your rig won't end up a pile of smouldering ash.

Firewatch Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-2155C 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon II X3 460 3.4 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTS 450 1GB or Radeon HD 6770
  • HDD: 4GB Available Space
  • DX: DirectX 11

Firewatch Estimated Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-550 3.2 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6 GHz
  • RAM: 6 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB or Radeon HD 6950
  • HDD: 4GB Available Space
  • DX: DirectX 11

For all its gorgeous good looks, those low-poly visuals have definitely helped developer Campo Santo keep the system requirements down. The minimum spec is very basic, and we can't anticipate too many problems here. There's probably a few eyebrows raised at the 6GB RAM requirement, but I'd be extremely surprised if you can't get away with 4GB. Take that with a pinch of salt, of course, but we'll take a look once we get our hands on review code.

Everything else is just about on par with what we were expecting, including some very low end graphics cards and processors by today's standards. Campo Santo has unfortunately not provided and recommended specs, so we've had to estimate these. Anything in this ballpark you'd think would be able to play Firewatch extremely well.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the Firewatch System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Firewatch benchmark chart.

Looks pretty good. It reminds me a little bit of the excellent "The Long Dark".

I thought the requirements would be a lot higher just because the game is still graphically stunning.
