The latest Total War Warhammer gameplay video takes a closer look at the Empire's Grand campaign. Focusing on the regions maps on the Empire faction with a look at how things are in the starting period of the game for them. There are a couple of months still, until the end of April TW Warhammer release date, so Creative Assembly are adding polish to their final game.

In the video we can see some key in-game campaign mechanics at work, with a closer look at the Legendary development path including Karl Franz's Pegasus mount skills. Then there is coverage of the building & technology trees, finishing with a closer look over the human lands of Reikland and its topography.

Back in December 2015 we took a look at the Greenskins Grand Campaign video and so it seems only right that the human campaign gets its turn in the spotlight. One thing that some people are still not quite aware of is that this new Total War + Warhammer relationship is only the beginning. There are already 2 other Total War Warhammer games planned and no doubt a tonne of DLC for each of the main games.

As with previous Total War titles, the campaign management of your Empire will include assigning realm titles to certain Generals and heroes throughout a players faction. Which then passes on bonuses from that General, based on the title you have allocated. For example, the Empire Treasurer title will boost trade across the whole Empire faction and if the general is inhabiting a friendly region then that region will gain a boost to any infrastructure income. Its also worth noting that if you wish to customise your Generals/heroes then you can rename all of them apart from Legendary heroes, like Karl Franz.

Here is a look at some of the Total War Warhammer full campaign map, cobbled together from screenshots.

Since Shogun Total War turned up years ago I have been looking forward to this particular strategy war fantasy mash up. Only a couple of months left to go and hopefully it will run well across a variety of machines. Total War Attila came out with a new revamped super charged Total War game engine that crushed modern PCs at the time. Total War Warhammer will use the same engine, but will hopefully not be quite the same shock to contemporary hardware, now that we are a year further down the road. either way, we only have a handful of weeks until we find out.

I hope they make Warhammer 40K too, Empire Total War's ship fights would go nice with 40K space ships.
