The battle of the consoles hasn’t really shifted into gear yet this year, but Sony is planning to kick things off in style with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End come April. We’ve only seen one tiny segment of Naughty Dog’s third-person shooter so far, along with a multiplayer beta, but with just two months to go until launch Sony has well and truly kicked hype into overdrive with a brand new trailer.

The official PlayStation account tweeted something exciting would happen at 14:00 GMT today, asking fans "Are you ready to seek your fortune?", and woah did they deliver. There’s plenty to be said for a first-party studio like Naughty Dog being given the time and money to really take advantage of the hardware on offer, and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is undoubtedly looking like one of best games ever, visually speaking. Prepare to scoop your jaw up off the floor…

It doesn't look as if Naughty Dog is taking any risks with this one, but there's certainly plenty out there, myself included, that are pining for more of what made the original trilogy great.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is coming to PS4 on April 26th in North America, 27th in Europe, and a couple of days later of April 29th in the UK. So great, I get to watch my US chums breeze through this for three whole days before it reaches these shores.

Because Sony doesn't release a game on PC it means they don't care about PC gamers?

Yes and same can be said for Microsoft when they don't release Xbox games on PC (thankfully they do now) or force people to use Windows 10 or EA/Activision/Ubisoft etc. when they release broken games and sell half of the game as DLC or Intel when they bribe laptop producers to keep them from using AMD CPU's... They care about money and money only, they don't think about if they have deserved it or not. About Sony, thier main mistake is not letting consoles die. There is literally no reason for consoles to exist now except one. Anything a console can do, PC can do it much better and also PC can do many things a console can't do. That one reason is there is still money to be earned.

You cite EA/Activision/Ubisoft as problems as they are multiplatform? I can't really see what's wrong with making your own product and making games to play on it. Without Sony and Microsoft those games just wouldn't exist in the form they are today. Assassin's Creed and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune came out at the same time. In a months time we will have a total of 5 Uncharted games, 22 Assassin's Creed games. Now, which one was greedy again?

Both are greedy for different reasons. EA/Activision/Ubisoft are greedy because they mass produce half games. Sony and Microsoft are greedy because they are trying to make money from consoles. About what is wrong with consoles, at first there wasn't such thing as PC and for a long time PC had no other use than coding and checking mails. At those years, i mean like 20 years consoles were the kings of gaming. But PC's got more advanced faster than consoles and reached them at gaming by 7th gen of consoles. By that time there is no reason to build more consoles. There is nothing a console can do and a PC can't. And what is wrong about this? I will explain in second post. No more characters left

They need a reason to make people buy a product that doesn't have any advantage over another product. The reason they created is exclusive games. It is a very articifal reason, almost like making an articifal disease only to gain money from selling vaccine for it. Microsoft also does the same thing with Windows 10, as Windows 10 offers no real improvements over Windows 7 they force people to move to Windows 10 by making some features Windows 10 only. Antivirus companies do the same thing by making viruses so that people will have to buy antivirus from them. And console makers do the same thing so that people have to buy console to play a game.

I don't understand what you mean by greedy? As in they want to make money? That's the same with every company under the sun. Like it or not, they want your money. If people keep buying consoles, they're going to keep making them.

Hmm yeah I see your point there, but I'd disagree there are zero advantages. Both clearly have their own advantages, it's just in the case of a console they're obviously not advantageous to you.

I guess I just don't get moaning about exclusivity. I don't complain I can only get a Big Mac at McDonalds, that's what McDonalds is. There's plenty of other burgers out there.

Costumers are also guilty of it, for example i hate EA's policy of making premium edition of every game but i still can't keep myself from buying Battlefield Premium. Everyone needs to earn money to make a living but some people find easy ways of earning money and exploit them to the end. If someones job is worth x amount of money that person should be pleased with x amount of money. But if person wants 10x amount of money for x amount of job thats being greedy. At long term this leads to collapse of economy, costumer is not rich enough to buy and producer has enough money to live without making anything. It is not just about consoles, more like about almost everything.

You can get a Big Mac at McDonalds and McDonalds only but after you bought it you can eat it in McDonalds, your home, park, anywhere and by using your hands, a fork, chopsticks, anyway you want. The thing with exclusives is, you buy the game from x company, you can only play it using products made by x company. It is like forcing someone to eat his Big Mac using chopsticks.

You make it sound like Sony is forcing your hand here. They paid to create an exclusive, you have the choice whether you want to pay to play it. If they didn't sell consoles there wouldn't be an Uncharted 4, so you'd get nothing anyway.

Also, CaptainESS, not letting consoles die is not a mistake. Yea, PC's can do everything a console can do, but it also costs more than the double you would pay for a console. I payed almost 800Euros for 3 PC parts (GPU,CPU and MOBO) and PC graphics are maybe just a bit better, but you gotta ask yourself if it's worth spending all of that money on a PC if it only has slightly better graphics. Besides, I like the gaming experience on my PS4 a lot more then sitting in my room with my PC that makes a slight humming sound which gets annoying after a while (or you could pay extra for a better cooling system). And let's be perfectly honest here: most PC exclusives can run on low end systems.

It is not like that, sure i will still buy it from Sony but i want to play it on whatever device i want, same applies to Xbox, PC, Nintendo exclusives. Now it is like you buy a burger from McDonalds but even when you buy it you must eat it there, you can't get the burger out to eat it in some other place.

Besides, Sony barely makes any money with the PS4 sales, they profit 18$ for every PS4 sold. They get their income from games, so how would they make extra cash on PS4 sales if they keep releasing exclusives? Besides, releasing on other platforms is like giving a big stack of money to their rivals. Not releasing games on other platforms isn't "greedy".

I want developers who make games for PC to squeeze every single bit of power of PC, like how Naughty Dog does with PS4. Sadly some greedy whatevers limit our potential too much to sell more GPU's or make consoles look stronger. Seriously, some badly optimized games don't even use 50% of computing power PC has.

The PS4 is one hell of a specific piece of hardware, which naughty dog has probably been working with for a couple of years now. They can easily focus on specific parts of the cpu / gpu, 1/2

And wars will never end... But i still keep hoping. Maybe they will never catch the level of PS4 optimization but it can be much better than how it is now. A PC with 5 times more power than PS4 should be able to offer at least 3 times better performance. I am not a computer engineer but if PC's are that inefficient maybe we should probably burn them and get consoles instead for everything. I have a different idea, destroy consoles and force developers to put more effort into PC's. Consoles sole reason of existance is to prevent costumer from having a one machine to do everything. This way costumer must buy multiple machines and companies will earn easy money.

That wont happen simply due to the fact that they will make more money by making avg graphics which are easy to run by mass population.

so if a game on ps4 can look that beautiful, why don't the games on pc look even more than that??? it's funny cause i can't think of a game that has made me that much of an impression graphically as uncharted 4, maybe crysis 3 but it was 3 years ago

I can't keep myself from thinking about 2 what ifs. First one is, if Nazis weren't racists and they used their insane technology for good of mankind. We would probably be technologically 20 years more advanced now. Second is what if Naughty Dog made games for PC and had access to unlimited hardware power. I can't even imagine what they could have done. Real time CGI quality graphics would be real.

That's bull****. There's never been a downgrade. In fact there are some upgrade now compared to the most recent E3 2015. Link look at the hair it's much better in the new one with better subsurface scattering. Also notice there are more detail in the clothes now compared to how it was at E3, more post processing effect, slight tweaks to the lighting so it looks better now, overall the character model is a bit more polished. Yep this is for the players Look at that immense detail
