Grand Theft Auto V and Bioshock Infinite publisher Take-Two Interactive has said it will be at E3 2016 “in a big way.” That’s the words of CEO Strauss Zelnick, who’s teasing some major titles to come from the titanic publisher. Take-Two is the parent company of both Rockstar and 2K Games, so it’s got some seriously big IPs in its stable.

So far we know of two new games being published by Take Two Interactive in 2016, comprising FPS MOBA Battleborn from Borderlands dev Gearbox and Mafia III from new studio Hangar 13. The former is confirmed for May 3rd, well before E3, and Mafia 3 is rumoured to be launching sometime in Spring. That suggests Take Two has far more up its sleeve than perhaps we’re aware of.

Typically Rockstar shies away from E3. Which is fair enough, they don’t want to share the limelight with hundreds of other studios, and when you’ve got a game as massive as GTA V then you don’t need event - its announcement was its own event. As such I don’t expect GTA VI or anything of the sort to be there, but I do think it’s about time we heard something from Rockstar. It’s coming up to three years since Grand Theft Auto 5, and I reckon it’s a pretty safe bet it’s got one of Red Dead Redemption 2 or Agent nearing release.

Mafia III has also been conspicuous by its absence, so there’s a distinct possibility it won’t hit its rumoured spring 2016 launch, making the New Orleans-inspired gangster sim a prime contender for E3.

Looking though Take Two’s back catalogue it’s fairly difficult to pin down what else it could have planned other than the glaring hole occupied by Rockstar, but you’d have to say it’s probably about time a Civilization VI arrived. My understanding is it’s a different team at Firaxis to the one that works on XCOM 2 so it could well be time to dust off Ghandi once more. I guess there's also room for a new Bioshock, but with series director Ken Levine off to pastures new, it's difficult to see who could take up the reins on this one.

E3 2016 is running from June 14th through to June 16th, with expected live conferences from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, EA, Ubisoft and Bethesda. Could Take Two be the next conference on the cards?

What big things are you hoping to see from Take Two at E3 2016? Are you expecting anything from Rockstar yet or do you think it’s still too soon?
