If I were to ask you what the worst mainline Call of Duty game was, what do you think your answer would be? Now, I’m guessing a fairly large proportion answered Call of Duty: Ghosts. A magnificent misstep in an otherwise remarkable run of games from Infinity Ward, it had precious little going for it. Oh, apart from 'fish AI' and a really average looking dog companion. Now how about if I told you Activision and Infinity Ward have apparently decided Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 was a good idea?

Well that’s exactly what well established British gaming magazine Games™ has said in a 2016 preview. Interestingly they also tout another unannounced game in Forza Horizon 3, so perhaps they’ve got information we haven’t been privy to. Whatever the case, the magazine says Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 is coming in November 2016, so, er, time to get hyped I guess.

It’s worth bearing in mind that this is still firmly in rumour territory, and I’ve got serious doubts Infinity Ward would go down this route. Ghosts had an infamously lukewarm reception, so a sequel would be pretty much dead on arrival, despite the awesome alien invasion co-op multiplayer mode.

No, no, no, if I had to hazard a guess at what Infinity Ward is up to it would either be an entirely new Call of Duty, COD: Modern Warfare 4, or, faced with declining sales, pulling out all the stops and launching a proper numbered title with Call of Duty 5.

What do you reckon then, do you believe Games™‘s claims? How would you feel about about a Ghosts sequel?
