EA has detailed the first chunk of paid-for post-launch content for Star Wars Battlefront. The premium Outer Rim expansion pack will be launching on Tuesday, March 22 for Season Pass holders, arrive two weeks later on Tuesday, April 5th for everyone else who plans to pick it up standalone.

All of the content is detailed in a brand new trailer showing off the four new maps, two new heroes and Extraction mode which makes up Outer Rim. The four maps are split between the factories of Sullust (of Clone Wars fame) and Tatooine, including Jabba’s Palace. The two new Heroes might make all but the Star Wars hardcore turn to Google, comprising Rodian bounty hunter Greedo and Alliance smuggler Nien Nunb. It looks as if DICE is holding onto the big guns like Chewie and Yoda for later packs.

The trailer doesn’t really explain what Extraction mode is, but from the sounds of things it’s basically one-sided capture the flag with the Rebels forces tasked with extracting valuable resources while the Empire must stop them.

One other aspect which isn’t shown in the trailer is the new Hutt Contracts system. These are special challenges which when completed offered access to new Star Cards and weapons. This is going to be available to everyone, regardless of whether they pick up Star Wars Battlefront: Outer Rim or not.

I know there were plenty of complaints that Star Wars Battlefront was a little, shall we say 'content light' at launch. Is this reason enough for you to pick up the Outer Rim DLC or are you cutting your losses and avoiding it? Let us know below!

Still no single player Galactic Conquest mode so no thanks again. This new Battlefront is the biggest let down for me of the past year. Maybe even my biggest let down of the past 10 years.

what i found strange apart from the extreamly high price is the only 2 maps included in this expansion, dice is used to release 4 maps in every DLC -_-

Greedo shot first.
However in the original Star Wars script, Greedo was never meant to shoot at all.
Just later on after it was being revised, they decided that Greedo should be the one shooting first.

Originally yea, but nowadays Greedo did. Or at least that's how Lucas wanted it to be.
