The Witcher 3: Blood And Wine Looks Gorgeous In Screenshot Blowout

I spent the best part of the last year trying to rid myself of my Witcher addiction. Having sunk hundreds of hours into the main game and doing everything there was to do, I somehow managed to resist the Hearts of Stone DLC. Now here we are a year after CD Projekt RED’s RPG changed the face of gaming, and a new batch of screenshots for the 20-hour Blood & Wine expansion makes it clear it’s going to drag me in all over again.

I mean, look at them. After months spent traipsing around the corpse-ridden trails of Velen and the imperious mountains of Skellige, Blood and Wine looks like a breath of fresh air, and a colourful one at that. The all-new region of Toussaint looks incredible, and really CDPR had me at giant mushrooms.

"I can already tell you Blood and Wine is a fascinating story, with every sort of twist and turn you'd expect from our writers," said Marcin Momot, community coordinator at CD Projekt Red.

"Toussaint, the new realm we're creating for the expansion, is unlike anything you've seen in Wild Hunt – carefree and colourful, but your gut never stops telling you that there's some real dark stuff happening underneath all that," Momot adds.

CD Projekt RED is still keeping schtum on precisely when the Blood & Wine expansion pack is dropping, but it can't be far off now.

"Changed the face of gaming?"

In what way? I liked Tw3 but I'm so sick of it's incredible overhyping. Nothing the Witcher did was any different than any other game to date. Granted it did a lot of those things incredibly well and better in some cases, but it certainly didn't "change gaming forever" as some put it.

I take it you belong to the group who just plays the main quest line, skips the dialogue, from from A to B and then when the credits roll you give your opinion.

Because if you'd explore the game, read the lore, listen to dialogues and do side quests besides the amazing main quest-line, then you'd understand.

Fun fact for those who don't know, Blood and Wine will actually bring slightly updated graphics, but they will only apply to the Toussaint region!

Damn,I'm going to go even crazier with screenshots then I thought.Would be nice if they applied it everywhere, but then again I would be unable to play the game due to me stopping every 5 seconds for a screenshot

THIS is the kind of DLC that I'll put my money behind. Witcher 3 and Rainbow Six: Siege are the only games that I know of that don't have a crap DLC system, with Rainbow Six: Siege's DLC being free and Witcher 3's DLC being as big as some base games are. To a certain extent the Total War game's have good DLC, but only a few of the DLC are any good. Wrath of Sparta and Caesar in Gaul and the other large campaign DLCs for Rome II are good and worth the money, but enhanced blood textures?!?! Ridicules. And all the playable factions in the Grand Campaign should be playable FROM THE START!!!

I don't think I'm gonna get it
Can't imagine the game without the main characters

What makes you think the main characters won't be there? There's still a lot of loose character threads from the first two games that the DLC could tie up. Iorveth, for example.

Characters like zoltan, Ciri, Dandelion, yennefer and triss are those I mean actually.
You think they are included? I will preorder if they are!xD

Dandelion is a possibility due to his past relationship with the duchess.
I´d like him an Zoltan haveing a little more screentime.

Have you played Hearts of Stone? The store revolved about Gaunter O'Dimm and Olgierld Von Everec - both not the main characters as per your selection - but the story was absolutely awesome!

I haven't come back to TW3 in a long while, busy with other things, games... but i still want to play Hearts of Stone first. Still I'll get Blood & Wine as I got the expansion pass, which I think was well worth it. See you again soon, Geralt!

I'm gonna wait till all the expansion's are released then play the "complete" game at once. Also gives me time to finally finish Witcher 2.

I got witcher 3 from GOG. Do I have to get the expansions from them or is steam still an option? Just curious. GOG is great but steam might have a crazy sale or something.

gog and steam are 2 different platforms. You need to purchase the dlc from gog not steam. It is like origin and steam. The same thing. If ure playing in GOG u cant play in steam.

Hey guys I need help,I messed up my Witcher 3 game folder by installing a mod and had to uninstall the game.I reinstalled it from the disks and it worked with patch 1.02.Then I started downloading the patch 1.02-1.12 (10 GB).I couldn't download it in one attempt as my internet is slow so I paused the download at 3 GB and shutdown my PC,when I restarted my PC the download started from the beginning bcoz GOG Galaxy Client s**ks.

So I wanted to ask if is it ok to reinstall the game form the disks and if yes can someone provide me with a link to download the patch (maybe a reliable torrent)
Sorry for the long comment.

Just install the game from disc and then use the launcher to get the patches/updates. Any other way would be unofficial and probably done by pirates.
