Over the weekend we got heaps of news from Star Wars Celebration in London regarding the future of Star Wars Battlefront, including the first ever trailer of the Death Star expansion, and a teaser for a Rogue One movie tie-in.

The Death Star expansion is due to drop in September, bringing four brand new maps set on both ground and in space, all featuring the iconic super weapon. As per usual it’s joined by new weapons, star cards, challenges, and two new heroes in Chewbacca and Bossk. They’re reaching a bit for that last one, when they’re teasing a “larger than life character we know you've been patiently waiting for”, everyone must have been expecting Yoda.

Following this, design director Niklas Fegraeus took to a gaming panel at Star Wars Celebration to confirm that, despite DICE denying it all year, a Rogue One expansion would be coming later this year along with the movie. Players will get to fight in iconic scenes from the movie, including the new beachy planet of Scarif. There’ll be two new heroes - Jyn Erso and Director Krennic, neither of which we know a great deal about until the movies arrive.

Anyone still plugging away at Star Wars Battlefront? Is Death Star the DLC to tempt you back?

If they let player steer that HUGEEE ship (Like how you steer aircraft carrier in Battlefield 1942), I will buy the game. For now... Nah.

I expected more of this game, but got less. Also the new DLC gives paying players access to more powerful cards and weapons, which is just plain unfair. I've played against people who could disable my weapon with a card, stun me with another and one-hit kill me with a third. Yup, that's fair. Did a game you have to pay for, just become Pay2Win? :C

I agree. I love multiplayer in games but i prefer those in which players all have an even ground so that it is skill based and not how fat your wallet is.

Battlefront is great. I love that game and I played all aspects of the main game and the two available DLCs. I can't wait for Death Star.
