Capcom has announced a remastered version of the original Dead Rising is coming to PC for the first time ever, along with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That’s not all either, with Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record remasters also making their way to the current crop of consoles.
"Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4 and PC,” wrote Capcom in a brief statement. “In addition, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will make their way onto Xbox One and PS4. We will have more news to share soon."
The original Dead Rising has, up until this point, been an Xbox 360 exclusive since 2006. It’s going to be given a 2016 spit and polish before arriving on PC, ensuring the entire Dead Rising series is available on both PC and Xbox One in some shape or form.
On the surface it seems fairly strange to remake a fairly niche title like the original Dead Rising a full decade later, but evidently Capcom is keen to build hype ahead of Dead Rising 4, which is due to come to Xbox One and PC in December, with a PlayStation 4 release rumoured for 2017.
