Blizzard’s usually stellar animation department must be tied up with all things Overwatch as its World of Warcraft: Legion animated short is a little on the basic side compared to its previous creations, despite the fantastic artwork. Created to build hype for World of Warcraft’s upcoming six expansion pack, it features Gul’dan neatly enough, he of recent Warcraft movie fame.

The haggard old sod is up to his usual dirty tricks, this animated short charting his rise from lowly orc to powerful shaman. It serves as a prequel to the events of Legion, which sees Gul’dan and his orc brethren raise the Broken Isles from the sea floor in search of a long lost tomb.

WoW’s Legion expansion bumps the level cap up to 110 and adds the new demon hunter class. While exploring the Broken Isles there will be ten 5-man dungeons and two new raids for advanced players to master.

World of Warcraft: Legion is out for WoW subscribers on August 30th.

Loved the movie, loved that animation... almost makes me want to play WoW again... then I came to my senses and remembered how painfully boring the game is.... they need a new game based on the Warcraft franchise, one that helps define a genre like WoW did.. and Yes I know WoW was not the first MMO, but the most copied

So becasue you don't enjoy a game, they need to make a whole new one regardless of the people who do enjoy it?
That's not how it works.

Ummm did I say they should just up and cancel WoW? What I am saying is that they need to remain innovative..... and sorry, but when it comes to the Warcraft franchise, they have not been.
