Gamescom 2016 - See How Gears Of War 4 Runs At 4K With A GeForce GTX 1080

System Requirements Optimum 1080p PC Build Low vs Ultra Screenshots GPU Performance Chart CPU List That Meet System Requirements GPU List That Meet System Requirements

It’s the new most demanding PC game in the world, but just what are you getting when you throw thousands of dollars of gaming hardware at Gears of War 4? Microsoft has revealed a new gameplay video of Gears of War 4, this time running on a top-end PC with a GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, all in ultra crisp 4K resolution.

In this gameplay demo JD, Kait and Del are chasing mysterious enemy through an old fort. Along the way, they run into two fierce Swarm enemies - Drones and Pouncers.

Poor geometry and the occasional lacklustre texture let it down a bit, but the whole package looks like a fairly gorgeous albeit not groundbreaking experience. Taking a glance at the specs of the rig used for this demo, it seems pretty clear now that those Ultra requirements for Gears of War 4 released last night were for playing GoW4 in 4K. They were unbelievably high, so this makes plenty of sense.

Gears of War 4 is coming to Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One on October 11th, or earlier on October 7th if you stump up the cash for the Ultimate Edition. *Vomit*.

No doubt the graphics look great, but the gameplay didn't captivate me. It just looked boring in my opinion.

Stopped watching at 33 secondes, i just wanted to see if it would run at atleast 60fps, but it seems to run only at 30fps. So now that i know that the 4k only runs at 30fps(in this game) with the best GPU, then i have absolutely no regret for not having a 4k display.

They caved-in with Quantum Break and they'll cave in with this, me thinks. So I'll hold my pennies off for a Steam version later.

It looks good, I'll give 'em that. But as long as its on UWP, I won't be getting it. Hopefully MS puts it on Steam a few months later like they did with QB.

first of all,it doesnt look really special.even battlefield 4 looks way better.
second, i Fuking hate it when shooting and enemy has no effect on them (such as the enemy ragdolling, flinching, just ANY kind of reaction really) because it feels like im not doing anything to it,similar to the Division.
the destruction is PRETTY bad (scripted,as in this object can only break this way)
and honestly they couldn't have found a player that actually knew how to play? awful aim and 90% of the time didnt even get the normal fast reload.

just a weak showing in general

So why is a 1080 recomanded for ultra? A GTX 770 should be able to ultra it at 60fps... do they mean for 4k? A 1080 should still be overkill for that.. it's just to sell new gpu's of course.

I know not everyone likes reading the actual article before posting a comment, so I'll just quote it for you:

Even so. They should have tested the pc version by using the keyboard and a mouse.

A controller was used because Xbox used this footage on their Facebook to promote the game ..... didn't mention it was PC footage .... they kept that to themselves, even had the "Xbox One S, starting a $299" at the end of the video.

True. I'm starting to doubt that the developers way of advertising their game on windows 10 are too lazy.

Graphically pretty average for current AAA titles in my opinion, but certainly still acceptable especially if it runs smoothly. But as some dude in the yt comments stated to me it looks really boring and repetitive actually.

Ahhhh.. Gears of War.. One of the most critically acclaimed shooter games out there..

Finally it's coming to PC..

It's easier to aim using mouse+keyboard than a Xbox controller..

Yeah, it is just a shame that they will want 60$ for a 9-11 hour game.

There are other modes like horde and a good multiplayer.

ahhh! gotcha! Halo normally has a short single player but i was always more than happy to pay for it because the multiplayer is legendary.

Quite possibly equivalent to or faster than a GTX 760. PS4 has more VRAM for GPU data and it has ACE. Asynchronous compute drastically improves GPU efficiency if utilized properly, something GTX 760 doesn't have at all.

That MAY have something to do with Crytek boasting having done Crysis 3 in half the time it took to do Crysis 2 with about the same or a smaller team...

Uncharted 4 is on a whole another level in terms of animation, attention to detail in the environments, lighting, physics, characters models & their hair, clothes etc.

Too bad I can't really see any BIG difference without owning a 4K display (besides the fact that edges are pretty smooth on 4k) but, it does look pretty sweet. I just might buy this game :P I should be able to run it at 4K.
