It’s the new most demanding PC game in the world, but just what are you getting when you throw thousands of dollars of gaming hardware at Gears of War 4? Microsoft has revealed a new gameplay video of Gears of War 4, this time running on a top-end PC with a GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, all in ultra crisp 4K resolution.
In this gameplay demo JD, Kait and Del are chasing mysterious enemy through an old fort. Along the way, they run into two fierce Swarm enemies - Drones and Pouncers.
Poor geometry and the occasional lacklustre texture let it down a bit, but the whole package looks like a fairly gorgeous albeit not groundbreaking experience. Taking a glance at the specs of the rig used for this demo, it seems pretty clear now that those Ultra requirements for Gears of War 4 released last night were for playing GoW4 in 4K. They were unbelievably high, so this makes plenty of sense.
Gears of War 4 is coming to Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One on October 11th, or earlier on October 7th if you stump up the cash for the Ultimate Edition. *Vomit*.
