Back in July The Coalition promised Gears of War 4 wasn’t just going to be any old slap dash PC port. It would have plenty of PC exclusive enhancements, features and settings, all the while being “highly optimised”. We can’t speak for the latter point, but on the basis of a a sneak peek at Gears of War 4’s advanced graphics options, there’s a seriously impressive amount of customisation underneath the hood.

Gears of War 4 Graphics Options And Advanced Settings

Between Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and now Gears of War 4, it seems an additional layer of care is being lavished on the current crop of PC AAA releases. There’s a few options in here we’ve never even seen before, so The Coalition has certainly got everything covered. If anything, and I’ve never said this before, there’s almost too many options here to tweak in GoW4 for the average consumer to get their head around.

Nevertheless, it’s great to see some of the DirectX 12 exclusive features given some loving towards the end. Toggles for Async Compute and Multi-GPU could be very handy for those looking at squeezing out some extra performance in some more experimental PC builds.

On the basis of this we could be in for a treat with this PC version. It's too easy to pre-emptively judge it based on Quantum Break's poor PC port, but this is a completely different studio working to a complete different timescale. Fingers crossed Gears of War 4 is as great as it looks when it launches on PC on October 11th.

They are just trying to make people buy an Xbox. The sales pitch is that it is the "Easier" way to get the "Best" experience. If nobody can see this...

This is one of the aspects where PC gaming stands out. Meaning this should become the standard for new games imo.

Cool, now all we need is all the GoW games on Steam.

That's all nice and dandy, but if you don't bring it to Steam, who the hell is gonna buy it on Windows Store?

Being able to specify texture detail for so many different objects in the game is a huge plus for those with limited vram. Now it doesnt need to jump by almost 2gb when you go from medium to high.

Small detail that could be easily overlooked. At the bottom of the screen shows information how each individual setting will effect the CPU usage, GPU usage, and VRAM usage (not shown in these screenshots).

oh, i was expecting a gta 5 type of "memory used" meter. I guess it telling you moderate, minor, major, or none is better than nothing. Moderate/2048MB lol

But does it all matter when the game is on the Windows store..? Steam I would be clapping for, but now it's like having a golden and diamond-incrusted fork with personal monograms and a special case to eat soup with... It's there and it's top-notch, but will you be using it? :D

if it's highly optimised, it should do 30+fps(lowest settings @ 720p) on non-gtx.
