In last than a month we're going to suit up as mob boss Lincoln Clay and wreak revenge against the Italian mafia who destroyed his friends and family while away fighting in the Vietnam War. Mafia III promises to ooze 60's cool, delivering the series' trademark period authenticity as the streets of New Bordeaux are rife with crime. Don't just head out there all guns blazing though, check out the official Mafia  3 system requirements first to make sure your PC is sufficiently tooled up.

Mafia 3 Minimum System Requirements

• GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870

• HDD: 50 GB Available Hard Drive Space

Mafia 3 Recommended System Requirements

• OS: Windows 7 64-bit
• CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
• RAM: 8 GB System Memory
• GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory
• GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon R9 290X

I know a lot of folks have been holding out for these before laying down cash for a pre-order, and fortunately Mafia 3 isn't the most demanding game around. A semi-decent gaming PC from the less four or five years should be capable of meeting the minimum specs for Mafia III.

When it comes to the CPU this looks a little scary when looking at the 9 star rating over on Mafia 3's game page, but the Intel Core i5-2500K is really a very old processor at this stage. With AMD's limited CPU releases the tech advancements have really slowed down though, so the 2500K still manages to hold its own in just about any game today. So unless you've got a really, really old PC, I wouldn't fret too much about Mafia 3's seemingly high CPU demands.

Where you should be concerned though is in meeting the minimum graphics card requirements for Mafia 3. These are actually a smidgen lower than I anticipated they would be, in particular the minimum. Provided you've got at least 2GB GDDR5 memory you should be good to go; anything less and you're in trouble. It's also unlikely many of you have 6GB memory and I'd hazard a guess it's much safer to opt for 8GB if you can. Even 8GB has cause the likes of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to crash on me lately.

Recommended requirements for Mafia 3 are obviously a lot higher, but this should only concern you if you're dead set on cranking all the settings up. Those of you rocking a GeForce GTX 970 should be absolutely fine here, despite the 10-series GTX 1060 creeping into the recommended.
