Official Battlefield 1 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
  • AMD CPU: AMD FX 8350 with Wraith cooler
  • Intel CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 or equivalent
  • RAM: 16GB System Memory
  • AMD GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
  • NVIDIA GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB
  • DX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
  • NET: 512 KBPS or faster Online Internet Connection Requirements
  • HD: 50GB

Let's analyze the recommended requirements starting with the AMD CPU. According to EA, you need an FX 8350 processor along with a Wraith cooler. The Wraith cooler was announced at the start of this year for the FX series to provide silent but significantly better airflow to the processors to keep their temperatures down. This cooler in question provides 24% more cooling surface area and 34% more fan airflow according to specifications online. On the Intel side of the BF1 requirements we have i7-4790 which is 3 years old but still delivers massive computing power.

A general conclusion from that would be that Battlefield 1 will be taxing on CPUs but the benchmarks we have conducted so far contradict this. It is a possibility that the new maps could have higher requirements or these requirements are aimed at a 2560 by 1440 pixel resolution, since both RX 480 and GTX 1060 are designed for that, but we'll have to wait and see.

Our benchmarks with the GTX 950 show that the card can easily manage 40+ fps on 1080p, Ultra Settings, so it is safe to say that these GPU requirements are likely aimed at 1440p and above. On the Nvidia front we can see a recommended GTX 1060 GPU requirement and over with AMD we need an AMD RX 480, both modern performance gaming cards.

In regards to RAM, you'll need at least 16GB to run Battlefield 1 smoothly at 1440p. The minimum required BF1 hard drive space has also bumped up from 40GB to 50GB, hinting the addition of new maps, most likely.
