It seems like only yesterday when Felix informed us about the minimum requirements of Battlefield 1 in the midst of the hugely popular public beta. It is time now to put on our war boots and prepare to embrace the recommended Battlefield 1 requirements and see if your PC can run it

Official Battlefield 1 Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
  • AMD CPU: AMD FX-6350 processor
  • Intel CPU: Core i5 6600K processor
  • RAM: 8GB System Memory
  • AMD GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB graphics card
  • NVIDIA GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB graphics card
  • DX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
  • NET: 512 KBPS or faster Online Internet Connection Requirements
  • HD: 50GB

Official Battlefield 1 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
  • AMD CPU: AMD FX 8350 with Wraith cooler
  • Intel CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 or equivalent
  • RAM: 16GB System Memory
  • AMD GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB
  • NVIDIA GPU: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB
  • DX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
  • NET: 512 KBPS or faster Online Internet Connection Requirements
  • HD: 50GB

Let's analyze the recommended requirements starting with the AMD CPU. According to EA, you need an FX 8350 processor along with a Wraith cooler. The Wraith cooler was announced at the start of this year for the FX series to provide silent but significantly better airflow to the processors to keep their temperatures down. This cooler in question provides 24% more cooling surface area and 34% more fan airflow according to specifications online. On the Intel side of the BF1 requirements we have i7-4790 which is 3 years old but still delivers massive computing power.

A general conclusion from that would be that Battlefield 1 will be taxing on CPUs but the benchmarks we have conducted so far contradict this. It is a possibility that the new maps could have higher requirements or these requirements are aimed at a 2560 by 1440 pixel resolution, since both RX 480 and GTX 1060 are designed for that, but we'll have to wait and see.

Our benchmarks with the GTX 950 show that the card can easily manage 40+ fps on 1080p, Ultra Settings, so it is safe to say that these GPU requirements are likely aimed at 1440p and above. On the Nvidia front we can see a recommended GTX 1060 GPU requirement and over with AMD we need an AMD RX 480, both modern performance gaming cards.

In regards to RAM, you'll need at least 16GB to run Battlefield 1 smoothly at 1440p. The minimum required BF1 hard drive space has also bumped up from 40GB to 50GB, hinting the addition of new maps, most likely.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run Battlefield 1 here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Battlefield 1 GPU benchmark chart.

I played beta on my Xeon 5550 quadcore (8 threads), 24 GB DDR3 RAm and GTX 750 Ti, medium setting 75-85 FPS. And my processor have giant X on every game in last 2 years on this site. Sad :) And 1680 x 1050 resolution ;)

to be honest, i got 60 fps stable(v-sync on) on medium settings with 90 field of view...of course with 852p resolution (i prefer 4:3 for combat)...on high settings usualy between 43-55 fps

A 1060? From what I know the 1060 is superior to a 970 and I got 90+ FPS on 1080p @ all high settings

don't worry those minimum settings don't make sense. I've so many games I play at minimum settings when my hardware is 30-50% below the minimum requirement and I can reach 40 fps on low 1080p.

It is. I managed to max the game out at 4k in the beta at 45-65FPS with my i5-4570

My sister played it on ultra (admittedly at 720p) with a GTX 760 and i5 2500. Ran perfectly, 60 fps. Maybe the other maps are more taxing?

I was running the game maxed out getting average 112 fps. Lowest I hit was in the 90s. This was just the beta; but it ran well at DX 11, DX 12 I was having some issues like lags.

Are these requirements higher than the Beta ones? I managed to run the game smoothly at 720p low-mid settings btw.

When i bought my rig, these minimum requierments were reccommneded for almost all higher-end games.Boy,does time fly fast...and technology even faster.

The thing is there is not much improvement in cpus to justify these requirements.

so because i don't have wraith cooler it means i can't play the game?

4790 or 8350 for recommended. That's like saying if you need to run a good time on the track recommended cars are a Ferrari or a Ford Focus.

You are giving the Ford focus too much credit. I'd put the 8350 at a Charger Hellcat!

It's more like a 2015 Corvette. It's not the same power as a Ferrari (Intel), but it certainly is power.

I played the beta as well, 60FPS with all settings maxed or close to max, FXAA (or whatever the post processing AA equivalent was, no MSAA). Of course we only had the Sinai (desert) map to play on... But I think it ran very well on my system. I'd say the recommended is probably for resolutions above 1920x1080. Although, I did notice it was using well over 50% of my 16GB system RAM, so, that recommended requirement might be correct. I'm glad I put more RAM in my PC...

I like how it says AMD CPU: AMD FX 8350 with Wraith cooler
Btw I ran the game just fine on ultra atleast in the beta. I had around 40avg fps the game is quite well optimized. Thou the game didn t really interested me much as how I expected it would.
