Watch Dogs 2 Computer System Performance Review

So recommended Watch Dogs 2 system specs are hovering around the high performance top end 3-4 year old PC mark, by the looks of them. With the aging Nvidia GTX 780, which has 3GB VRAM, cited as the older sort of graphics requirement option for WD2 recommended. A machine also has to have 8GB system memory and an i5 3470 or AMD FX 8120 processor as a rec requirement. By today's standards it seems like this hits the more common Nvidia GTX 970 or RX 470 graphics card requirement mark, to get reasonable FPS results on a 1080p screen resolution with high graphics settings.

One thing we are pleased to see is that there is no Watch Dogs 2 frame rate cap on the PC. So none of this 60FPS cap for Watch Dogs 2, which is a relief. There also seems to be some solid 4K support being implemented for Watch Dogs 2. Take a look at the following graphics info for more on Watch Dogs 2 graphics options.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

General
• 4K support
• Stuttering/lag framerate optimization – We employed a fix that makes all controls much more responsive and less framerate-related. We’ve optimized resource creation, GPU VRAM upload and required VRAM for the game.
• No FPS cap
• Full SLI/Crossfire support at launch
• Multiple save file support – This feature allows players to have up to three auto save slots for three separate playthroughs.
• Multi-monitor support with borderless mode and advanced settings that allow for customized placement of menu and HUD.
• Multiple windowed mode options – Windowed mode with flexible/resizable windows, multi-monitor borderless.

Improved Graphic Features
• Screen Space Reflections
• Headlight Shadows – Support for additional shadows from car headlights
• Extra Details Options – Increases the level of detail for all objects in the game, and adds more details to objects in the distance.

Improved Graphics Options
• FOV sliders
• Pixel Density sliders
• Sharpness sliders
• Ultra Textures pack available at launch

Anti-aliasing options
TXAA
MSAA
Post Processing Anti-Aliasing options SMAA and FXAA

Improved Keyboard/Mouse controls
• Full adaptation with mouse and keyboard
• We’re using raw mouse input to reduce latency and use the Windows hardware cursor throughout the game without any additional signal filtering to smooth or accelerate mouse movement by default
• Advanced keyboard support – Keyboard hotkeys for every menu and app for faster access. Additionally, all hotkeys can be remapped.
• Mouse-centric UI – Any UI screen, menus or smartphone app supports full mouse interaction, so the player can finish any UI task with the mouse only. Everything is clickable and has appropriate button states.
• Toggle/Hold modes for different controls (aim, sprint, walk, inventory, etc.)

Driving
• Driving has been adapted to suit the keyboard controls, with adjustable steering sensitivity. Same goes for driving camera sensitivity and auto-centering camera behavior

Gamepad support
• On-the-fly switching between mouse and keyboard to gamepad, without any additional options, UI will just switch to gamepad mode
• Supported gamepads: Xbox One controller, PlayStation 4 DualShock controller

We will report more on the graphics and visuals when Watch Dogs 2 hits the new PC release date of 29th November.

Ubi did this with Syndicate, and that ended up being a pretty solid port. A couple of weeks of dedicated work seems to do Ubi good, so I'm all for it. I'm pretty pumped about GTA5...I mean Watchdogs 2, but I'm still hesitant to fully trust Ubi until I see port reports.

well if you pre order on steam you can get your money back anyway, but still why pre ordering like a month before the release? if you really want to preorder you should do it like a day before release so you can preload it and still got the pre order stuff.

"Supported gamepads: Xbox One controller, PlayStation 4 DualShock controller"
Does that mean you can't play using Xbox 360 controller?

Xbone controllers use DirectInput just like the 360 ones. I use Xbone controllers for the original Halo. If one is compatible, then the other should be too.

Well this requiresments surprised me de the Cpu recommended and the sort of gpus required for this game to run at 60 fps 1080, but how is the 780 comparable to a 970 or 1060?

I don't think you can at all, I'm afraid... the game isn't out yet :(

On a more serious note, your hardware falls into the low-medium category, but all will be clearer when the game actually comes out.

I never lost trust in you Ubisoft. Please make this the continuation of the comeback you began when you decided to not make another Assassin's Creed. Take your time, do it right, and properly support all gamers, not just console.

I'm suprised by the requirments. I expected they to be much higher, but I guess im wrong. That for low->mid gaming pc's can play now the game. But at least the game is 50GB. The only hope i can have is the optimization to be good and the aiming to be good. On mafia 3 for me the aiming is awful and the voice of the

Felt kind of pissed when I read the title, but after reading the full article I have to say that this seems like the first smart thing Ubisoft has done in a while! Don't force it, polish it and make the PC port worth the wait, finally a tip from Rockstars book!

Not exactly a tip from Rockstar's book when they don't even announce PC versions of their games.
