Rumour: Final Fantasy XV And Final Fantasy VII Remake Coming To PC In 2018

Take this with a mighty pinch of salt but Square Enix is reportedly planning an absolutely mammoth celebration of Final Fantasy’s 30th anniversary next year.

According to a rumour over on VG Leaks, Square is preparing to launch both the first episode of the Final Fantasy VII Remake and the Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age remaster next year. That’s not all either - a Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy remaster is also allegedly headed to PS4, each game coming on separate discs.

And finally, the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection. This is a compilation packing in the latest versions of Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX. That’s every single Final Fantasy from I through to X.

If it sounds too good to be true that’s probably because it is, although I can’t help but get my hopes up for such a comprehensive haul of Final Fantasy games. For PlayStation 4 owners it would every single mainline Final Fantasy game except for the online-only Final Fantasy XI would be available on a single platform.

PC gamers aren’t being left out of the rumours either. Final Fantasy VII Remake is reportedly on course for a 2018 launch on PC, as well as the recently released, console only, Final Fantasy XV, along with all its DLC.

Naturally enough the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Collection won’t interest many PC gamers seeing as the majority of these are already available on Steam. The rumours do however suggest a Final Fantasy Season Pass will be made available for PC in 2017, comprising Final Fantasy I, Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions and Chrono Trigger. If true then that’s one hell of a haul.

What do you think then, is this one rumour too far for you? How would you like to see Square celebrate 30 years of Final Fantasy?

This sucks! PC being the ultimate platform for gaming has to put up with this.
I don't buy into The Master Race stuff seriously...just for fun. But fact is Computing on a Computer is unparallelled and unmatched by consoles due to limited and fixed hardware while trying to maintain the illusion of value for money.

This ise even more disappointing coming from you Square Enix.

FF series has always been out for consoles. The fact the SE planning to port it to PC is something PC gamer should be grateful for. Seriously.

FFXV is hands down one of the best ARPGs out there imo but the xbox version looks like dog s**t, this one of the only games good enough for me to settle for the console experience, but I will rebuy on pc for 60$ without blinking

Not that its really that bad on my eye have been seeing 1440p@60fps and Im playing 900p@30fps so it a bit jarring, but this game is to good to pass up imo.

OMG, I grew up playing Final Fantasy, if they would release a collection of sorts, I would definitely buy something like that. I really hope FFVII releases in 2018, and on PC along with XV

Oh wow, I feel like back when they released the first Skyrim teaser back in November of 2010 a full year before the release. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGMOMkACtn4)
Not sure if my heart can take a full year of hype a 2nd time.
