What are Your Most Played Games on Steam?

Written by Ed SW on Sat, Jan 7, 2017 2:00 PM

Hello dear computer comrades. Here’s a discussion we’ve been having a bit of fun with recently at Game Debate and one that has been weirdly insightful as to what kind of gamers some of us really are. What are your most played games in your steam library? Which are the games you’ve sunk the most hours into? The games has taken an ungodly amount of your time? We’ve been scouring through the top played lists of the GD community and we must say the response has been fantastic. So without further ado let’s take a look at the inner workings of our GD minds and set up the stage for you, the reader, to hit us with your biggest time wasters.

So let’s start off with Jon-The-J-Man-Joff...

Coming in at number one I don’t think anyone at GD was surprised to see Rocket League coming in at the top spot. He plays it every lunch. But the game that got peaked our interest the most (as well as got Jon ribbed the most) was Clicker Heroes. Turn out Jon is a serial clickaholic, spending more time relentlessly clicking a single button than exploring the expansive world of Dying Light. Who’d of thought it eh? I should point out as well he performs his reviews through separate accounts, which is where some more obscene times no doubt lurk.

Next up we have Chris, the GD tech guru…

A juggernaut of total Steam time of all of GD, you can easily see that Chris is a serial Dota 2 addict. Having spent effectively a month and a half on the MOBA, you can be sure you wouldn’t want to mess with Chris if you met him on the Dota circuit. Following that we can see Chris also has a soft spot for Left 4 Dead, Civ 5 and Sci-Fitastic X Rebirth.

While on the subject, let’s take a look at what lurks in my steam library…

Having not checked this page in a long time, I’m actually not surprised by the result. Team Fortress 2 is no shock. It was the first ever multiplayer game I ever got growing up in a remote internetless village. To give an idea of the extent I played, for a period I had to wear gloves while playing as I developed genuine blisters on my mouse hand. Crazy, blistery, times. Skyrim and Rust are no surprise either, being games I have binged heavily on as I’m sure most would understand and of course bringing up the rear, a good smattering of Total War games. Who doesn’t love conquering the world?

Let’s delve into Shaheryar’s most played then shall we?...

Well it’s easy to see that Shaheryar is a fan of the old animated fantasy card games. One of the scarcer play time lists featured in today’s break down, Shaheryar attributes this to having play time in hidden away in other non-steam games such as Age of Empires 2 and 3 that apparently trump Infinity Wars by far (200+ hours at least).

Coming in next we have JRschro…

First off putting Jon to shame with his clicker antics, JRschro has an impressive 247 hours clocked on Insanity Clicker, an impressive feat for sure, while loud and  proud at the front it’s easy to see the CS:GO leanings that are prevalent. A widely varied playtime list there’s also a good smattering of Witcher 3, Dark Souls, GTA V and Project Cars, it’s easy to see Jrchro is a Jack of all trades when it comes to his Steam.

Coming in fast and low we’ve loukas371…

Just tipping the post as the biggest DOTA 2 player, loukas371 edges Chris off the top DOTA post. How they’d fare on the battlegrounds of DOTA is yet to be seen, who knows which would be GD champion. Aside from that it’s easy to see loukas is a serial FPS-er, as we all are from time to time. Who can deny Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 being a great game? Not I for sure. With notable mentions being Dirt Rally and a hefty playtime on the platforming perfection that is Super Meat Boy.

And finally bringing up the rear we have Roley…

Owner of the biggest curve ball we’ve seen so far, Roley is holder of an absolute behemoth of a Tom Clancy's: The Division playtime, knocking everything we’ve seen so far to the side with its mighty beefiness. A curve ball, but nonetheless understandable with The Division’s exquisite blend of multiplayer and single player. Next on Roley’s played we have another huge chunk of EVE Online followed by MGSV: Phantom Pain and Payday 2 which begins to trail off into TESV: Skyrim and RIFT. What a ride of a playtime list.

So there’s some of our most played Steam games from our fantastic GD community, how about you guys? Which are the games that have earned the most of your time? If you’re not sure how to check by the way, simply go onto your Steam gamer profile and click the Games tab on the right hand side, take a screen capture and let us know down below. Once again a massive thanks for the member of GD who took part and of course, see you in the comments!

:D my opinion, there is a huge map and beautiful cars and racing diversity. Can't say exactly one reason but here is my steam review.

I guess those are valid reasons to like the game. Me personally I couldn't get into it. It was just really boring and MP wasn't understandable.

Here is what Steam says for me, but I play offline a lot so I don't think that it is accurate. Plus a lot of my games are not through Steam. So...
TW:Rome 2 = 768
TW:Shogun 2 =602
Fallout 4 = 370
ES5:Skyrim = 333
New Vegas = 332
Endless Space = 317
Defense Zone 2 = 199
Witcher 3 = 173
TW:Attila = 158
AC4:Black Flag = 92
The crazy part is that I have never finished any of these games.

Wow, that's quite a'lot of hours for TW:Rome 2. I couldn't convince myself to purchase it since it had one of the rockiest launches ever and I just couldn't get myself to like gameplay either.

I never really had big problems with it. The first few months were a little rough with no SLI support, but once they got that straightened out the game played excellent. It was definitely different than the TW games before it, and I was a little apprehensive of that in the beginning, but after awhile I really started liking it. Especially after all of the DLC was released and mods finally stabilized. Modded Rome 2 is pretty awesome. I am still hoping for a Medieval 3 some day because Medieval 2 is still my favorite. I think I have over 5000 hours in Medieval 2. I still play it every few days

Yeah, since I loved DarthMod and he decided to not continue his work with Rome 2 and future TW's, I didn't feel like getting any other TW, since I am campaign player and I enjoyed his team tweaks the most. And I have never tried Radious...

Oh, and regarding next TW title, I've seen some post about set in Victorian Era and something set in ancient China, but that's just speculation. So, fingers crossed for Medieval 3.
