"It is with great satisfaction that we also can announce that PAYDAY 3 production is officially initiated and at a full design stage," announced Starbreeze within a recent financial earnings report for the previous quarter.
"I'd like to especially clarify, that this project will enjoy as much time as we deem needed. It will be done when it's done. This is our single most important brand today and the cornerstone of our business and we will treat it accordingly. Updates in the near future might be scarce and far between. You simply don't rush PAYDAY 3."
And it’s easy to see why Payday 3 would be a priority for Starbreeze. Over the last quarter Payday 2 raked in 37.2 million Swedish Krona, equivalent to over $4 million. Not bad for a game which is now four years old.
From the sounds of things Payday 3 could still be a ways off though. While Starbreeze is still raking in sizeable revenue from Payday 2 there really is no rush, so expect them to take their time and hopefully deliver on what a co-op heist game really can be.
