Someone save us, we’re drowning in games. Relic’s Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 3 has become the latest to join the assembled throng of quality titles launching in the first half of 2017. The previous assumption was that Dawn of War III wouldn’t be launching late in 2017, however publisher SEGA has come out and announced an April 27th release date on PC. Here's the full Dawn of War 3 system requirements.

Dawn of War 3 Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-540 3.06 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 805 2.5 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 1GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 6950
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 50 GB available space

Dawn of War 3 Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-3330 3.0 GHz or AMD FX-6350 3.9 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or AMD Radeon HD 7970
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 50 GB available space

As far as real-time strategy games go, Dawn of War 3 is just about the most demanding game this side of Ashes of the Singularity. If you've watched any recent footage then you'll be aware the battles in Dawn of War 3 can be absolutely huge, featuring potential dozens of independent units all casting their own light sources as they fire at one another.

It really is a sight to behold, and it does mean W40K: Dawn of War 3 does need a fairly hefty GeForce GTX 770 or a Radeon HD 7970 or in order to max everything out at 1080p. In truth this isn't that demanding by today's standards, but for an RTS it certainly is. Provided you have 2GB VRAM on your GPU, you should be okay to play Dawn of War 3 at decent graphics settings.

Elsewhere, Windows 10 is recommended but isn't required; there is no DirectX 12 support for Dawn of War 3, and just about any quad-core or dual-core + multithreading CPU will be able to run Dawn of War 3.

One last thing - Warhammer 40K: DoW3 will require an internet connection at all times. Without a net connection you will be able to play but progression will not be saved.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the W40K: Dawn of War System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Dawn of War 3 GPU benchmark chart and we also have a Dawn of War III Frames Per Second system performance chart for you to check.

Online only doesn't really bother me... What bothers me is the fact that they went full MOBA with the game :(

I cant watch the trailer on my mobile right now. But it was said to be a rts game just like starcraft 2. With some Hero chars but tons of units for war unlike the squads in DoW2

Dota2 is a MOBA
Dawn of war is nothing like Dota2?

I can type you a whole essay on why its like Dota, but all can be explained by watching this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG8d23Q41Ig ) Its a full leaked BETA match. And sadly that game mode is all we will have on launch.. All they said about other mode is that they will "explore" other modes after launch.. But if you don't feel like watching the video its basically like a Dota match. The enemy has a power core that you need to destroy, and to get to it you have to run down a lane with towers on the way guarding the lane.. So it will basically be Dota with base building and more units to control.. :(

Woah the other trailer i saw made it look so nice..
Well i wont play multiplayer anyway but if the campaign is not different i rather replay dow1

The trailer made it look like a shiny DoW1 to me

But the thing with the power core sounds like kill the king mode

Thats nothing unusual

Whoops. Just saw the ridiculous 'online only for save' requirement and that is a huge bummer.

Too bad the game looks like crap.

How hard is it to just take what worked with DoW 1 and do it again? Hell, a simple remaster would be fine.

Imo the squad fights in dow2 were crap

Actually it just looks like starcraft 2 too me which is nice

Really ? I thought the graphics look decent. I don't notice any issues with it. Some levels have a very dull tone of color so maybe that's what you saw and disliked.

Yeah I thought it looks like the best Dawn of War yet. If you just want DoW1 then it's right there already on Steam

Oh come on with always online bullcrap ! Don't do this.
Cloud saving is cool, but game not being able to save your progress on your HDD is abysmal.

I've come to terms with the fact that most games will require and internet connection for their requirements. Although it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Requires an internet connection for progression? Can't save to disc these days? I guess it will go in my wish list until a steam sale.

We need an internet connection at all times for this game? Great, that means I can't save progress when my connection goes down....

probably high-ultra, depending on optimization. at least based off of requirements, your GPU is high enough and your processor barely is. (like 2% higher than recommended)

eh I'm just going off of the requirements. the dawn of wars tend to be well optimized, so I don't see ultra being out of the question, just based off of the requirements, you should hit high-ultra.
