Planet Coaster’s absolutely stellar post launch support continues with the arrival of the Spring Update. This is a free update which adds several new rides, a Crime and Security feature, doubles the potential maximum size of ride blueprints and adds a trio of new campaign scenarios centred around the people’s champion - Chief Beef.

The seven new rides include three rollercoasters, three flatrides and a Go Karts track editor. The rollercoasters have also been given an overhaul, allowing up to five duelling coasters to launch simultaneously.

Long time Planet Coaster players will be pleased to see an additional layer of depth added to the game with the addition of crime and security. Security staff and CCTV cameras will now need to be installed to monitor crimes such as pickpocketing and vandalism, which is particularly popular among guests dissatisfied with your park. I thought I was only one who just had to kick a bin in after my two-hour queue for Space Mountain ended in disappointment.

If you’re a big fan of RollerCoaster Tycoon or Theme Park then I can wholeheartedly recommend you give Planet Coaster a go. It’s hands down the best theme park sim out there with some absolutely ridiculous customisation tools available and a thriving Steam Workshop. This Star Wars Death Star ride in particular just blew my mind.

The Planet Coaster Spring Update is available to download right now.
