We’re zeroing on Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3’s launch now, barring yet another late delay. It means it’s time for a token pre-launch trailer with a thumping musical track layered over the top, just the sort of thing to get you in the mood for blowing someone’s head up from 800 yards, popping like a watermelon under heel of Hercules. Which, from looks of things, is what you’ll spend a whole bunch of time doing, alongside a spot of vehicular manslaughter, neck stabbing and assorted badassness.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is going head-to-head with Sniper Elite 4, but what Ghost Warrior 3 lacks for in X-ray kills it tries to make up for with its own brand of graphic violence. I mean, just look at it pop. Look at it.
If you didn’t sample the open beta a month or so ago, the gist of Sniper: GW2 is you play as an American sniper (Jonathan North) behind enemy lines in northern Georgia. He’s the USA’s own Terminator, tracking and killing high-profile targets in order to halt any potential with Russia. Ghost Warrior 3 is set in a large open-world with fully dynamic weather and a day and night cycle, forcing North to adapt to different scenarios and choose the right gear for the hit.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is due to launch in just over a week’s time on April 25th, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
