One of the biggest selling points of the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront II is the inclusion of a full single-player campaign. The lack of any real single-player content for players to sink their midichlorians into was a major sticking point of the original, yet for the sequel, fans will be treated to what will surely be the most gorgeous single-player Star Wars campaign of all time. There’s a new behind the scenes trailer out now, with a number of members of the DICE team outlining its plans for the campaign, which has the players taking on the role of an elite Empire trooper.

Star Wars Battlefront II isn’t the first Star Wars game to pit the player as a ‘baddie’ and it certainly won’t be the last, but DICE is taking a fairly unique approach in blurring the lines between good and evil that separate the Republic and the Empire, and Jedi vs Sith. Commander Iden Versio is a top TIE Fighter pilot who is fiercely loyal to the Empire, and yet truly believes she is fighting for the right cause, painting Luke Skywalker and co as terrorists who want to upset the traditional order.

Star Wars Battlefront 2’s plot will cover the 30-year gap between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and 2015’s Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Things kick off with the destruction of the Death Star above the Forest Moon of Endor, leading to the collapse of the Galactic Empire and the rise of the First Order.

“Another great thing they included was to do it from an Imperial point of view,” explains Steve Blank, creative executive. “It hadn’t really been done before, at least not at that fidelity. So they sold us from day one on that idea, and we put our nose to the grindstone — working on all the details of what that would become.”

Battlefield 1’s campaign was a bit of a mixed bag. Having six playable characters provided a unique look at some of the untold atrocities of World War One, yet it was more of a short story collection than a meaty campaign. The stage is set for DICE to finally deliver on a top-tier single-player story component, let’s hope they manage it this time around.

Star Wars Battlefront II is out on November 17th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Seriously, i know this is a new canon and things are changed. But, there are no female stromtroopers, they just don't recruit females, Navy SEALs also don't recruit females. They also don't recruit aliens. A black male is fine and logical because they recruit male humans, yet people seemed surprised about it. On the other hand everyone is okay with a female stormtrooper. But as i said before, this is a new canon, they might as well make a Hutt stormtrooper, or hell even a mickeytrooper.

Intriguing. Noone ever cared when storm troopers died en masse or what were their thoughts and feeling in all of this. They have always been faceless, without feeling or even their own will. This is sure going to bring a new prespective. Hardcore Star Wars fans forgive me if I am being ignorant but my knowledge of the SW universe doesn't extend beyond that of the movies.

I don't think they understand what was actually great about old Battlefront campaign system.
After what happened to the first BF, I don't think I'll be picking this one up.

Maybe I'm just being too sceptical, I guess we'll see.

Nope, as a huge Star Wars fan (baring all the paraphernalia people like collecting) and an FPS fan, I was not impressed by the first Battlefront at all. I was expecting there to be at least a decent single player campaign, after all, isn't Star Wars all about the story?

I mean it's fun getting the Darth Vader, or Luke Skywalker power-up during multiplayer, but it just doesn't add anything.
