With the crushing air of inevitability, Ubisoft has at long last confirmed the existence of Far Cry 5. The full worldwide reveal is coming on May 26th, but in the meantime we’ve got the first teaser trailer and confirmation of where it’s going to be set.
Aaaaand, drum roll please…….. Far Cry 5 will be set in Montana. The rumours were bang on the money a fortnight ago when a production crew revealed it was on a film shoot for a trailer to an existing global franchise that “will be released in September.”
The telltale guitar twang hints that Cry 5 will be a Western, as per the rumours, set in the late 19th century. Just let us rob a moving train and all will be right with the world. Of course, I could be totally wrong and Far Cry 5 may once more be set in the modern era, we'll have to wait and see.
UPDATE: Ubisoft has provided us with an additional three trailers, and it looks as if Far Cry 5 is set in the modern day. They don't give a great deal away in truth, however, something grim seems to be happening in Montana.
Far Cry 5 looks to be Western-themed then, or at very least set in modern-day Montana. what are your hopes, dreams and fears for Ubisoft's next open-world outing?
