This is the power of community feedback, Bluehole Studio has announced that PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS has sold over 4 million copies and it isn't even out of early access at this stage. It is probably one of the most successful Early Access releases to date with an overwhelmingly positive response from gamers.

Our own stats show that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is extremely popular among GD'ers as well and it currently leads our featured games chart on the home page. The game features a do or die multiplayer where players start off with nothing and must scavenge supplies and weapons to be the last person standing on the battlefield.

The announcement was made on PlayerUnknown's Twitter account:

3 months... 4 million copies of @PUBATTLEGROUNDS sold... Thank you all again for your continuing support — PLAYERUNKNOWN (@BattleRoyaleMod) June 22, 2017

The game is currently under development and is actively being improved based on feedback from the community. The final version is expected to come out in 6 months time and will also have modding tools in order to tailor the gameplay experience as well as more content.

Their tag line for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is, not just a game, this is Battle Royale. The games Battleground has been built using Unreal Engine 4 and puts the player on an 8x8 km island where only one person can be left standing. You begin with nothing and you search for equipment, armour, guns, grenades, vehicles and so on all the while trying not be taken out by any of the other players.
