Telltale had a bumper day of announcements yesterday evening, revealing no less than three new games. A trio of its most beloved series will be returning shortly, including a final season of The Walking Dead, the second series of Telltale’s Batman, and - sound the hype klaxon - The Wolf Among Us will return after a four-year absence.

First things first, Batman. This one’s come around pretty swiftly, but the second season of Telltale’s series, revolving around Bruce Wayne and his alter ego, will be debuting very soon, on August 8th. Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series will be a new five part episodic adventure series that continues on from the first season. Bruce Wayne is struggling to control his inner demons. Uneasy alliances must be made with some of Gotham's deadliest villains, asking questions as to just how far Batman would go to uphold the law. Then a deadly alien invasion forces the XCOM forces to… oh, hang, different game.

Following up this will be, deep breath, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - The Final Season. I can’t be the only one breathing a sigh of relief that this series is at long last getting some closure rather than continuing in perpetuity. It once more focuses on Clementine, providing fans with one final opportunity to decide how her future pans out.

"It's going to be an amazing experience. Thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart," said Melissa Hutchison, the voice of Clem since 2012. "It's been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, and so much love has been behind this whole experience. Good luck, I'll be right there with you."

Lastly, there’s the return of a game which fans have been calling out for, for years now. The Wolf Among Us Season 2 will be arriving in the second half of 2018, featuring the returning cast of characters but telling an all-new standalone story set within the Fables universe. It’s been four long years since we heard a peep from this franchise, so I’m setting off my internal poppy poppers.
