Rogue Trooper Redux is out on October 17th, publisher Rebellion has announced. It’s a game I’ve conspired to never hear of up until this point in my life, but plenty of folks seem to be excited. Rebellion, of Sniper Elite fame, developed the original way back in 2006, and they’ve palmed off remaster duties to TickTock Games. It’s coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox One and Switch for the low, low price of £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99. I have to say as well, the remake looks pretty fantastic, and in a comparison trailer looks heaps better than the original.
The remake features remodelled characters, weapons, and vehicles, remastered cinematics, new special effects, dynamic lighting and higher fidelity geometry. It certainly doesn’t look like a brand new AAA title but it looks decent enough, and could definitely pass for a 2012-era game.
Apparently, Rogue Trooper was pretty well received back in 2006, but never managed to achieved the sales to match its critically acclaimed status. Nevertheless, it’s managed to achieve a bit of a cult following in the years since, and now Rebellion is back as a publisher for a second bite at the apple.
Rogue Trooper Redux is out on October 17th worldwide, for PC, PS4, Xbox One and, at a later point, the Nintendo Switch.
