Ninja Theory has just dropped a stunning new trailer for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice in preparation for its August 8th launch. It’s a proper put your headphones in and bask trailer, exploring the murky ethereal threats out to get Senua. In addition to this, Ninja Theory has also announced the high-end PC features that make the PC version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice the definitive edition.

PC players will be able to take advantage of an uncapped frame rate, 4K resolution support and 21:9 ultra widescreen compatibility. That ticks all the right boxes, all that’s left now is to hope Hellblade runs great on PC. The official minimum system requirements are out and they’re pretty demanding, so be sure to check those out before you lay down some cash.

PlayStation 4 Pro owners will also be getting some enhancements. They’ll have the choice between playing at an enhanced resolution or a locked 60 frames per second. That’s good news for 1080p TV owners; too few developers opt to go down the improved frame rate route.

It seems as if Hellblade is flying totally under the radar right now, yet everything Ninja Theory has shown looks top tier. It’s a budget $29.99/€29.99/£24.99 release with AAA production values, evident in the gorgeous visuals and standout voice work. Their track record, too, speaks for itself, having developed DmC: Devil May Cry, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword. Hellblade looks to tackle an altogether darker subject matter, embarking on a journey through a twisted underworld composed of Senua’s own psychotic manifestations of her reality and state of mind.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out on August 8th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Amazing 3D facial capture and animation, probably the best I've seen in the games I've played! The guys at Ninja Theory are overflowing with talent.

Woman, blood, vikings, sexy sweat, poor madness. Sounds like my type of game.

Looks somewhat like Tomb Raider to me, except its not Lara's adventure.

Yup, many things like bridge collapsing, the woman slowly walking through woods, fire, water discovering new places etc.

I am very interested in this game, but there are two things that concern me:
The game has very high system requirements, and gameplay trailers don't look particularly smooth, given that the team developing this game is really small, optimization might not be that good.

I've read in the Steam forums that the game is not very long (6-8 hours), and for me, even with all the AAA production values, 30$ is just too much, especially when it doesn't seem to have much replayability.
Still, the game's premise is very interesting and will be waiting eagerly for reviews and gameplay videos.

This game is all about that woman and her story. If that is the kind of story that you like, than that story you will like.

If you go to the cinema then two tickets worth of 3h of content with no replay value is what you get for the same 30 bucks. Rather have a game...

You definitely haven't seen their dev diaries, which show's how much work and thought they have put in to this game, so I won't even bother arguing with you.

it doesn't matter how much work and thought they put on it, it could be still bad there are many more things needed for a game's success i mean just look at the for honor it was great but failed due to server problems!

For Honor didn't fail only with connectivity issues but with balancing, too. PK's, Nobushis and Orochi gave me huge head aches especially Orochi with how high his damage was. And don't get me started on PK's with their light attack spam with 0 stamina costs - which literally made me throw my controller.

Then there is matchmaking....
