Promising ultra-realistic online shooter Escape From Tarkov has just edged into its Closed Beta; a new launch trailer arriving to celebrate the news. Why have a launch trailer for a Closed Beta? Well, for fans it means Escape From Tarkov is available to buy, effective immediately. Buying any version of Escape From Tarkov directly from Battlestate Games will net you guaranteed access to the Closed Beta.
The trailer’s looking every bit as spick and span as you’d expect, showing off a raft of new gameplay/ Escape From Tarkov is best surmised as an online STALKER. Players inching through a post-apocalyptic landscape, scavenging for supplies and competing with rival factions.
The current alpha version of Escape From Tarkov includes the Shoreline location, one of the largest areas to be in the final build. There have also been a bunch of new weapons, modifications and items added, as well as a retooled economy and insurance system.
"In recent months we have done a formidable job optimizing the speed and stability of the game, fixed a lot of errors," says Nikita Buyanov, head of the Battlestate Games. "Our main task is to make it comfortable to play for everyone. Therefore, I hope that players will understand the precautions we took with the gradual admission. Of course, the development of the game doesn’t stop here. It will grow richer with features and content with every consecutive update, as soon as they are ready. For example, the closed beta testing will be soon expanded with the quest system.”
You can pick up Escape From Tarkov now directly from the official site, beginning at €34.99. I know plenty may balk at the idea of paying for access to a test phase though, particularly when it's such an unknown quantity.
