AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 And 56 GPUs Pricing Leaks Online - Starting From $399

Written by Shaheryar Ehsan-i-Haque on Sun, Jul 30, 2017 5:45 PM

Boy AMD just can't control the hype surrounding its RX series. Just before the launch tonight, the pricing of both the Radeon RX Vega 56 and the Radeon RX Vega 64 have leaked online, with the standard variant of the former starting at $399.

A little info regarding RX 56, it will reportedly have 56 Compute cores, 3548 Stream Processors and a TDP of 300W. It is based on the Vega 10 XL architecture and will supposedly compete with GTX 1070. It is expected to retail for around $399.

Next up we have three variants of the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64. RX Vega 64 XT Air will have 64 Compute Cores and 4096 Stream Processors with a TDP of 300W. Its base clock will be 1247 MHz and boost clock will be 1546 MHz. This standard variant will retail for $499. There is also a limited edition Radeon RX Vega 64 Air GPU which will have the same TDP but a higher price tag at $549, this is due to a limited edition metallic exoskeleton topped with a brushed aluminum surface.

Finally, we have the AMD Radeon RX 64 Liquid which will also have a limited edition GPU. The TDP is higher at 375W which is due to increase in base clock which now operates at 1406 MHz and boost clock runs at 1677 MHz. They will be priced at $649 and $699 respectively.

What are your thoughts regarding the leaked pricing? Are they up to your expectations or AMD will go with a different approach? Let us know!

In other news... Threadripper CPUs 16 core/32 thread = $999 12 core/24 thread = $749 8 core / 16 thread = $549 All 3 CPUs have 64 PCIe lanes with 4.0GHz max frequency and 4.2GHz overclock frequency.

Also a nice compliment to the new Vega GPUs is that AMD is offering a $300 rebate plus 2 free games if you buy an entire system with Free-sync monitor, Ryzen CPU, and Vega GPU.

so as i really like amd cuz of what it does for my job, i'll be going with a new 8c/16t for its 64pci lanes (even though 4 of them go to the chipset automatically) so then i can crossfire two water-cooled vega. it'll definitely be an interesting jump in performance for me.

for s&g's i will run the different cards with each cpu setup just to get an idea of how much my current cpu will bottleneck the vega and how much threadripper 8core lets the fury xs really breath.

Wasn't there a story about a miner group literally renting huge ass airplanes and stuff? This won't bother miners at all, at best those who privately mine, but those who do it commercially are the ones who got the most cards, and they won't give a flying duck.

i hate when people say that amd is better.and i hate when people say that nvidia is better. let's look at it this way. amd is good for ALL GAMERS, nvidia is good for someone who does not care about money and just wants top performance and early access to that performance because we all know that amd is being late.buy whichever card you want and stop insulting others!

I don't know... The bundle deal that AMD is offering right now probably has both nVidia and Intel sweating. More people are budget conscious than performance greedy so AMD has put out one heck of an offer for the masses with their bundle deal.

First of all I am 40 years old, second more people spend their money on mid-range hardware than high end, and third late or not AMD is offering an epic deal with a $300 rebate and 2 free games for a full AMD system bundle right now. So yeah... I would say the competition is sweating fairly heavy right now.

What i dislike most is people whenever they dissagree they use the term Kid Kiddo or such as an insult
Just like everyone else is a little brat without the right to have a opinion. I hope these people will treat their kids not like garbage but it does not look promising. Call one a child online and you look like a piece of moose**** to me.
Less insulting more debating we are not politicians, we are gamer

Everyone is applying that "Kids" don't have the knowledge of these topics but I do know a few on here who have more education on technology than 80% of people on this site.
Back on topic, I do agree that this is quite a good move from AMD and it does actually put intel and Nvidia on the edge rn. Glad to see team Red back in the game :)

@Tacese, We all have our moments. I am guilty of acting childish from time to time just like everyone else online. No one is completely innocent of acting a fool on the internet every so often. However there is no need to feed that angry beast when it shows itself in people. That whole "don't feed the troll" mentality needs to be maintained as much as possible because we all have an inner troll inside. ;)

But its true we are driven by emotions and sometimes even the best of us react not in the best way. Thats why i try to stay away from commenting if the subject angers me. Amd releasing vega over a year late pisses me off for i could had got my hands on vega last year. But i cant change that so its ok.

Oh but that bundle deal must all be bought at the same time to get the $300 rebate and 2 games. It is basically $200 off of the Free-sync monitor, $100 off of a Ryzen CPU/Mobo combo, and 2 free games with the Vega GPU. The games are Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus and Prey in the US. Games may vary by region.

I would end up at over 2000€ now 300 less is nice but still around 1800€
If i upgrade to smaller ryzen and dont buy the screen i end up paying 800€

Mobo start at 250€
Cpu atm at 800€
Gpu will start around 430€ and the screen that is bundled costs 900€

Thats like free mobo if one spends that much. But these cpus make only sense if you use at least 2 gpus and can support up to 4 due to enough lanes

A person can add extra GPUs easy enough at a later time as needed or wanted. However those extra PCIe lanes aren't just good for extra GPUs. They can be used for multiple things including several fast PCIe SSDs that could be put in a RAID format if someone wanted to. There are many possible configurations. Also that cheapest CPU (8 core/16 thread) is supposed to be $549. The $749 price is for the 12 core/24 thread CPU.

@Tacese - the $549 CPU which is the 1900X 8c/15t will be available later than the other 2, which is probably why it hasn't been listed so far on the websites you use. It's supposed to be coming at the end of August. Others are coming on the 10th of Aug.

well that would be (550-1000)+250+(400-700)+900=(2100-2850)€ for cpu+mobo+gpu+the screen i found out is meant in the bundle
if they make a minus 300 it sure is nice but would be awesome if they just bundle 2 games to a vega card so i can get wolfenstein 2 for free and maybe farcry 5 since they both use this new tech thing mentioned in the other news article

Well you see, it's not about clock speed. Let's take for example memory: HBM2 and GDDR5X. The latter runs at about 2000 Mhz and is 256 BIt (i think) the other is running at 945 Mhz and is 2048 Bit. And the HBM2 is much much faster. So think about it like an engine, Nvidia may have RPM (Clock Speed) but that doesn't equal to horse power (performance). The same goes for CPUs, newer ones at the same Ghz go faster than older ones at that speed.

I really don't see how this is classified as a big power draw. My 280X has 250W TDP and I've never had big electricity bills.
Furthermore, if you can cash out 500$ or more for GPU then you can easily stand an above average TDP.

I'm a "noob" so I was wondering what does the TDP mean, is it the power draw of the card or the heat dissipation capability of the cooler? What got me confused is my Intel Pentium G4560 which has 54 W at the shop page, but when I stress test with AIDA64 max draw is 18,2W. Sorry for my poor english

TDP stands for Thermal design power and is used to represent the "maximum amount of heat generated by a computer chip or component (often the CPU or GPU) that the cooling system in a computer is designed to dissipate in typical operation."

why? for the performance in this day and age, it isn't bad, overclocking 1080's and even 1080Ti's and Xp's actually drive up their power draw a lot, usually OC'd 1080's sit at 250 watts average overclocked. Once tile based rasterization is enabled, the performance per watt will look a lot better. I'm not arguing that it isn't power hungry but it isn't that bad, by what I know and understand, it is likely because of the 14nm from Glo Fo

Taking leaks with a grain of salt as always (and I've seen multiple ''leaks'' with different prices..) but if I'm paying 650usd + taxes, which is bang on a 1080ti, for 1080 performance I'm far from interested. Seems like waiting for Volta sounds better every day. And yes a liquid or aftermarket cooler is a must for these cards since the reference air cooler of the FE ed. didn't manage to even hold boost clocks due to thermal issues
