Sega is really spoiling us with Yakuza this year. The fourth Yakuza game in 12 months is inbound, leaking on the Taiwanese PlayStation store. Sega is planning to officially reveal Yakuza Kiwami 2 this weekend to coincide with Yakuza Kiwami’s August 29th launch. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake of the original Yakuza 2 for PlayStation 2, this time in the all-new Dragon engine with current-gen visuals.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 joins Yakuza Kizami on the remake train, while prequel Yakuza Zero launched in January this year. Early next year Yakuza 6 will also be coming to PlayStation 4. If that’s all a bit too much for you - there’s a whole lot of Yakuza coming.

The store listing lists a December 7th release date in Taiwan which is pretty near, although don’t expect to see Yakuza Kiwami 2 leave Asia until some point next year.

With any luck, this means the entire Yakuza game series is going to be remade in the Dragon Engine. Surely at some point, Sega can find some time to put its port team to work and bring these over to PC. Pretty please, Sega?
