It's flying a little under the radar at present but Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and Metroid: Samus Returns developer MercurySteam is finishing up work on its first ever original IP - Raiders of the Broken Planet. Teams of up to four players can co-op through third-person shooter jaunts through an alien world, hunting for loot and new gear. It sounds a bit like third-person Destiny, to be honest, and it's free-to-play so there's no harm in giving it a go. Before you start that 10GB download though, here are the official Raiders of the Broken Planet PC system requirements.

Raiders of the Broken Planet Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 GHz or AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 2GB or AMD Radeon R7 260X 2GB
  • HDD: 10GB Available Hard Drive Space

Raiders of the Broken Planet Recommended System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 4GB Video Memory
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 4GB or AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB
  • DX: DirectX 11
  • HDD: 10GB Available Hard Drive Space

For the most part, the system requirements for Raiders of the Broken Planet are pretty bog standard. They're pretty much bang on what we'd expect from a AAA title around the launch of 8th generation of consoles, such as early 2014. This means Raiders shouldn't really be worrying any new PC builds, and, provided you bought or built your gaming PC since the new consoles came out, you should be good to go.

Breaking things down a little, Raiders of the Broken Planet's minimum specs demand a quad-core processor and a low-end DirectX 11 graphics card with at least 2GB VRAM. Anything modern like the Radeon RX 550 or the GeForce GTX 1050 should tear through it just fine.

It's only a modest bump from there to Raiders of the Broken Planet's recommended system requirements. Curiously, the GeForce GTX 760 and the Radeon R9 290X recommended for RotBP are worlds apart in terms of performance, AMD's graphics card running which faster. The GeForce GTX 760 should be able to run Raiders of the Broken Planet fine but it is worth paying attention to the VRAM. MercurySteam recommends 4GB of VRAM, which is only available on certain custom Nvidia GTX 760s.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Raiders of the Broken Planet System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Raiders of the Broken Planet GPU benchmark chart and we also have a Raiders of the Broken Planet Frames Per Second system performance chart for you to check.

Sounds like it could replace firefall. Shame that game was shut down.

Thinking of trying Planetside 2 as well.

Planetside 2 is quite dead last i checked. You also need a beefy cpu, it aint optimized much.

Well fortunately my CPU is pretty much on the high end. It's held back by my GPU however so I will likely lose some frames. But I don't plan to upgrade the GPU. In fact I plan to get a gaming laptop by the end of the decade.
