Windows 10’s Fall Creators Update has made all sorts of changes (including adding anti-cheat software), but one of the biggest behind the scenes tweaks seems to be in regards to gaming performance - Forza Motorsport 7’s stuttering has now been fixed, providing smoother performance.
The problems seemed to stem from the previous Windows 10 Creators Update which rolled out earlier this year. It included the new Windows 10 Game Mode, which was supposed to free up system resources and improve performance. In reality, this feature did not work as intended, causing a wide variety of bugs, including, but not limited to, stuttering freezes, game crashes and FPS drops.
Microsoft has released the Fall Creators Update for WIndows 10 which should now iron out these bugs and performance hitches. Initial reports are positive, with users reporting Forza Motorsport 7’s performance has been improved since the update. Frame rates aren’t going up but frame pacing has been evened out, resulting in a smoother feeling game.
If you’ve got Windows 10 installed then the Fall Creators Update is in the process of rolling out in waves. If you’re the impatient sort, you can just head to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update to scan for and download the latest update. This may result in a bit of a lengthy installation process once you restart your PC.
