THQ Nordic has a love affair with dragging forgotten curios back in from the wilderness, with the Black Mirror horror adventure series the latest to be given the 2017 treatment. It’s from King Art Games, they of Book of Unwritten Tales fame, and we’ve got our mitts on the first gameplay trailer.

A classic style adventure game at heart, Black Mirror is Gothic horror inspired by the works of Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft. Rather be a remake or a remaster though, Black Mirror is a reimagining of the same point and click gameplay.

All the shenanigans centre around one David Gordon in Scotland, 1926. He’s been left a spooky ancestral home following the death of his father and he does what we’d all do when confronted by this news - go and poke around it and accidentally unleashing a cosmic horror on the world.

There’s a whiff of low budget to the whole affair (particularly that egregious clipping when the falling boy’s hand is grabbed) but that’s nothing less than we’d expect from an adventure game. We’re just hoping it’s got the heart to back it up.

Black Mirror is out on November 28th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
