Ah, it’s the most wonderful time of the year for our capitalist chums - Black Friday. It’s the time of year when the most insane amount of money is spent, not least on video games. There are few cheaper times to splurge out on games and today there are deals running across just about every storefront, both brick and mortar and digital. It’s the perfect time to stock up on some gaming goodness for the holiday season, hopefully at bargain bin prices. Those of you on the other side of the pond have a national holiday to celebrate as well, meaning the stars have aligned for some glorious gaming this fine weekend.

Jon: Having polished off Assassin’s Creed Origins I’m on the hunt for my next big game to play so I’ll be keeping a keen eye on the Steam Black Friday sales. Aside from that, I’ll hopefully find some time to finish off Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. For me, it’s a game that’s ultimately ended up more style than substance but it’s been an enjoyable roller coaster ride so far. That, and hatcheting a Nazi’s legs clean off never seems to get old. When I’m in a not-so-violent mood I’ll be continuing my quest in the frankly sublime Super Mario Odyssey. I’m on about 490 Moons so the true ending is within my grasp. I haven’t had a hint of boredom yet though, so I’m even considering playing onwards to get all 999 Moons. I don’t know how Nintendo manages to keep topping the 3D Mario formula, it’s mission impossible, but bless their genius for somehow doing it.

Shaheryar: In midst of sessional preparation, I will be taking deep dives in Batman: The Telltale Series Season 2. Episode 3, Fractured Mask is out and it is high time I corrected some of my “mistakes” which left Harley most displeased. Adventures await!

Felix: Ok, so Squee turned up at GD HQ this week as a complete surprise visit. I haven't seen him in person for about 2 years so I was in shock for the first few hours. It was brilliant. Anyway, after chatting for many hours about the various games we know and love I am left with a Squee shaped void in my life again. And looking at that empty Squee shape I realised it was the exact size and structure of a new TW Warhammer 2 Mortal Empires campaign. So I will dive into that so as not to think about how much I miss Squee again. Also, to help the choice was this week’s Creative Assembly announcement, about their Foundation Update. The update helps enhance/balance the enormous Mortal Empires campaign. But what race should I play as? If you get a moment please let me know your choice and why.

It's sales season so I'm sure plenty of you have picked up new games for this weekend, but what are you planning on playing? Are all the new games heading into your backlog while you boot up for another DOTA 2 sesh? Let us know!
