We’re overflowing with freebies these days and two more have come our way courtesy of Ubisoft. The dynamic duo of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and World in Conflict: Complete Edition are available to add your Uplay libraries, no strings attached.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was undoubtedly one of the finest games in the AC series until Assassin’s Creed Origins came and toppled it off its perch. It originally launched in 2013 and expands of the seafaring elements of ACIII. You’re a god-damned pirate, sea shanties, grog-swilling and all, so there’s a lot to love about what was a pretty radical departure for the series. “In honor of the tenth anniversary of the first Assassin’s Creed game, you’ll be able to get Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for free,” writes Ubisoft.

Now, if you’re frantically looking for that download link - patience is needed. ACIV: Black Flag is going to be free to add to your Uplay library from December 11th through to the 18th, so jot that down in your diary.

Before then, World in Conflict: Complete Edition is available to add to your Uplay client from now through to December 11th. “It’s been ten years since the release of critically acclaimed real-time strategy game World in Conflict,” says Ubisoft said, “You’ll be able to download World in Conflict and its expansion (Soviet Assault) for free.”

World in Conflict is an RTS set in an alternate history version of the 1980s, in which the Soviet Union has invaded Russia. It plays quite a bit like Company of Heroes with its capture points generating resources which can then be spent on sending new troops into battle.

If you want World in Conflict then you can grab it now here, and remember to check back in a week's time for ACIV: Black Flag.

Had no problems with Uplay what so ever for years.Got all A Creed games and someone mention it-unlike the Steam shiny badges/cards,with your achievements and XP (U points) you could actually get 20 % off a game or season pass - 40 % for both. Then i'll just finished the game and get more XP and points. And had no problems have'em both running at the same time, really.Don't get the hate.

It's unnecessary. You got steam already, what else do you need uplay for?

I guess if one has storage or RAM constraints, it can be pretty annoying ? But that's not the end of the world bad is it

I guess if you're a publisher, you want to have your own client/e-store so that when you sell games, you keep that extra profit you lose to Steam, through sales on that platform. Am I right ?

Yeah, let's enable a monopoly. Also, don't paint Steam as the perfect thing. It is not. It is quite bad in a lot of ways. Uplay has some bugs. That's about it.
Also, Uplay is the only store to my knowledge where your achievements actually give you something. Namely - 10% discount (on top of whatever discount there is already). Currently 20%, actually.

Implying your so called discount means anything when you have steam sales.
No monopoly isnt a good thing, but having trash like uplay is.

Also, you got steam, then you get uplay installed on top of it, then you also have denuvo DRM and maybe a 2nd DRM as well.
Its too much trash.

I might try again to grab this game but I've tried Uplay several other times in the past. Worked for a little while, didn't work for a long while. Couldn't get it to work at all when I wanted to try the For Honor Beta. My problem with it is that it's been a crap shoot so far.

@Feanorell you still haven't made any sense on why Uplay is trash

@Feanroell - I'm with you on not having so many DRMs. But I haven't had any issues with Uplay in the 2 years that I've used it. I have a few games on it, and been playing one fairly regularly. Not had any issues at all, so it's not even bad let alone trash for me.
Atm, Division's Season Pass and DLCs are cheaper on Uplay/Ubi- store than on Steam. And this past year they had their 30th anniversary and they gave away a ton of stuff for free - lots of games also.
I'm not sure matchmaking and networking/server issues are Uplay's fault, though.

Missing out legaly free game cause of nice little software that he is refusing to install.
Uplay is great and works good, had almost none problems with it while having many problems with fckng steam.

Uplay is alright at best, its quite buggy but has gotten much better in recent times. The problem is more so to do with their garbage server. A friend of mine had nothing but download issues with it peaking then going to 0 kb/s for an entire day just to download Ghost Recon. I had to disable cloud sync and overlay for my Siege to stop crashing 10sec into a round, while i had no issues with my copy on Steam.I wouldnt say its good, its average at best, proof? I get 17MB/s download,i get 36 on steam

I've used Uplay for a while but only had the one game on it. Haven't noticed any bugs so far. It probably does have issues I guess. Recently they've improved the client by bringing in some new features like Groups etc.

My favorite Assassin's Creed game because it has barely anything to do with the AC story :D I also love the sailing, fighting and choirs your men sing. It just has a special atmosphere.

"no strings attached" the "string" is that you have to install Uplay in order to play it.

Same and its a shame the multi isn't co-op like Unity and Syndicate are (i think). But it's actually quite fun, i didn't do much of the story but i did level up my ship all the way. Problem is my hard drive failed and doesn't seem like black flag has steam cloud save so i may need to play all over again.
