Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas from Mordor, this is Sauron speaking. Even I like to have a few days off from wreaking havoc and instilling terror on the local populace. And there's no better time for me to enjoy some downtime than a cheeky session of Shadow of War or Nioh. They're the perfect huge games to keep folks busy for the entire holidays. Which though, is best?

Round 1: Fight 5 - Middle-Earth: Shadow of War v Nioh

The original Shadow of Mordor was also the first ever 12 Games of Christmas Grand Champion. 2014 was a slightly turgid year, let's be honest, but with Shadow of War, Monolith has done much to make its Orc warlord sim as feature-packed as possible. And besides, the best bit about Shadow of War is that if the recipient still isn't satisfied with their Christmas gift, there are heaps of loot crates to buy as well. It's the never-ending gift.

Meanwhile, there's Nioh, which is probably the least festive thing in existence. If I were unwrapping my presents under the tree though, Nioh would probably be the best gift ever. It's supernatural feudal Japan Dark Souls, which is like a checklist of everything good and right in the world.

Of these two action giants, which do you think would make the best present this Christmas?

Vote for your pick in the poll below, and remember to get involved in the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti giveaway above.

How did Shadow of War beat Nioh,Nioh isn't repetative and has two expansions instead of MTX and cash-grab DLCs..

Nioh is not repetitive?

Nioh is a much better and less grindy experience than Shadows of War, plus the campaign and enemies are way more interesting in Nioh.

Nioh will always be the better of the two, plus the expansions blow anything Shadow of War can produce plus not having MTX in Nioh helps a lot.
