I was away on a booze-fuelled wedding rampage on Friday, so I missed that Ubisoft quietly dropped a pair of new trailers for the recently delayed Far Cry 5. The first is dubbed ‘The Resistance’, and it’s all about the player’s gang of misfits and hellraisers who are looking to take back rural Montana from the racist cult that has gained control. It’s definitely Far Cry alright, complete with killer bears, umpteen driveable vehicles and a penchant for mass destruction.
The other trailer is some straight up gameplay, which is always nice to see. It’s focused in on Holland Valley, in particular, one of the many areas of Hope County littered with missions, races, collectibles and honey badgers.
After a minor delay, Far Cry 5 will now be launching on March 27th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That’s the last Tuesday of the financial year. Handy that.
