2017 has been kind to most gamers, and PC gamers have had it especially good. Two games came to the platform as exclusives as blew us away - PUBG and Divinity: Original Sin 2. One is a commercial smash hit, selling in excess of 20 million copies, while the other is a critical darling. Which should you buy this Christmas though? Hmm, that's a difficult one.

Round 2: Fight 2 - PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds v Divinity: Original Sin 2

Early Access titles have got a lot of stick over the years, but PUBG is probably the ultimate example of Early Access done right. It arrived early in the year with little fanfare, rapidly growing into the behemoth it is today. Within a matter of 10 months, Version 1.0 would be out, and it's worldwide popularity was assured. If you haven't got in on the PUBG phenomenon - it's never too late. Championing replayability above all, PUBG is the sort of game you could feasibly play for the entire Christmas holidays and never get bored.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 had a similar fate. It launched in Early Access, yet it's also a fantastic example of what's possible with a Kickstarter funded project. Larian Studios is a heck of a slick ship, and D:OS2 is a heck of an RPG. Playthroughs can be drastically different based on character classes and decisions made, making Divinity: Original Sin 2 the perfect game to relax to over the Chrimbo hols with a big mug of festive tea.

Which game is the better purchase this Christmas though? We'll leave it to you to decide.

Vote for your pick in the poll below, and remember to get involved in the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti giveaway above.

D:OS 2 takes place before the first game so there is no need to play the games in order.
Have you seen some gameplay of the game. Do you like turn-base RPGs. if yes then you should buy it.

The only reason I voted PUBG last round, was because it was matched up against Destiny 2 so I just chose the lesser evil. But this time, there's really no doubt. Divinity Original Sin 2. It's a mastahpeece babyeeeeee

I was against accepting PUBG as a nominee because it was early access. But it is released this year so I'm voting for it simply because I enjoy playing it and I haven't even played Divinity.
