I almost canceled Christmas on Tuesday when you voted Wolfenstein II above Mario Odyssey. But, a democracy is a democracy, I mustn't become a fascist overlord (that's the New Year's resolution sorted), and so we plough forwards in our quest to discover the best gaming treat that you could find under the tree this holiday season. After gazumping Mario last time out, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is back, up against the mighty threat of the inexplicably popular Shadow of War. It's game on.

Wasn't Shadow of Mordor GOTY 2014? how is it that Shadow of War is worse if it brings so much more to the table, a way better story for sure,
plus I prefer open-world fantasy games personally, and a fan fiction of tolkien's world? I'm in for that, we're all entitled to our own opinions, of course.

It was some people's GOTY, yes. Both very average games imo

Wolfenstein II ! It's a fantastic game and i really loved playing it. Even if Wolfenstein II has flaws, like the AI and such ... the story is really great at some point :)

Same thoughts as Jon, it quite "triggered" me that Mario didn't win, but oh well it doesn't matter now does it. Also, compared to something that's a lootbox fest, I have to vote for the Nazi space killer simulator. The sequel wasn't as good as the first one. But hey, atleast it's better than Shadow Of War for sure.

I would say Shadow of War. Wolfenstein was great in its place, but I like games like Shadow of War more.

Unnecessary and exploitative predatory loot boxes in a single player game. Check. Dishonoring and taking advantage of a dead colleague for money. Check. Sh*tting on lore. Check. DRM that can, and has, kept people from playing the game because Denuvo servers are down. Check. I think I'll go with the game about killing Nazis this time.
