Biomutant Minimum System Requirements Shouldn't Freak You Out

Have you ever heard of anything cooler than a post-apocalyptic kung-fu fable RPG? Thought not. Biomutant turned a few heads when it was announced earlier this year and it's easy to see why. Biomutant harks back to a time when 3D action adventure games weren't afraid to be a little bit experimental and off-the-wall. Biomutant is coming to PC in 2018, but in the meantime here are the official minimum specs for Biomutant PC.

Biomutant Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-750 2.66GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 780 or Radeon R9 280
  • HDD: 10GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • API: DirectX 11

First things first, these system requirements for Biomutant are subject to change. However, having a glance at them, these seem like a fairly realistic set of specs aside from a couple of key issues.

Firstly, the minimum Nvidia graphics card is a GeForce GTX 780, while the minimum spec AMD GPU is the Radeon R9 280. Nvidia's graphics card is much faster than the 280, so it seems reasonable to expect Biomutant's minimum Nvidia GPU to drop down to the GeForce GTX 760. This particular graphics card ties in nicely because the recommended amount of GPU video memory is 2GB (same as the GTX 760), yet both the GeForce GTX 780 and the Radeon R9 280 are 3GB minimum.

Secondly, a 10GB install is tiny for a modern game. We'd love to be surprised but in all likelihood, this is going to increase significantly between now and Biomutant's 2018 launch. Biomutant isn't AAA, although it is damn near, and the average AAA game install size is now up in the 40-50GB region.

Aside from this, the system requirements for Biomutant look pretty reasonable. It's not pushing any graphical boundaries but it's still a decent looking action adventure that should well on a wide variety of PC gaming systems.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Biomutant System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Biomutant GPU benchmark chart and we also have a Biomutant Frames Per Second system performance chart for you to check.

Is that correct? A GTX 780 for a Minimum GFX requirement.

Just watched game play of the game, overall very nice concept, but frame rate is HORRID (granted I watched the PS4 version but still) I expect to EASILY achieve 1080p 60fps with my rig, otherwise those guys will need to patch the game a few degrees before I let my wallet anywhere near it.

I think they just made a mistake there, it should say 760 not 780 as it is just insane as a minimum requirement for 2018, but if this game releases in the last quarter of 2018 or 2019 it is somwhat comprensible as there will be new consoles arriving next year which means higher requirements for games.... just my opinion tho

I don't think there will be any new consoles next year..... the one X just released not very long ago, and the PS4 Pro just last year..... we may start getting some rumors and leaks of what's to come next.... but I can just about guarantee nothing next gen will be launching next year.... it would be foolish of Microsoft and Sony to launch a "next gen" console so soon after asking people to buy the refreshes.... and before anyone even says it, they are MORE than simple hardware revisions.

After reading this article
http://www.game-debate.com/news/24183/playstation-4-sales-top-70-6-million-on-course-to-match-playstation-2
just few days ago I think Sony would be a fool to release new console while the current one sales so good. Also I agree with TClawWolf that we won't see new gen consoles any time soon. As for the 780 as minimum req card I think it is completely acceptable...

... considering the fact that unlike Fermi/Kepler upgrade the Maxwell really offered us some power and performance improvement and than AMD showed up with theirs RX card so 780 isn't that much of a powerful card to be shocked anymore.

Not according to the theme. I watched need for speed all race tracks 1 lap 1 video. And oh gosh.. I missed this game. I had so much fun playing this game. I guess compare to before and today. Game companies thinks of the game to be make as much real as possible. But they forget 1 word. FUN. U need to have fun in order to play the game... If u dont have fun while u play then the product is failed.

I know right? I guess this is a game I likely will not pick up if I like it until I've upgraded hopefully next year. xD

GTX 780! Isn't that a bit high?

That's around 1060 3Gb for today, I believe, if not 1050Ti, with how the 700 series have aged. So for minimum it's not what you'd call low, but not insane either. I wonder what will be the recommended. Anything above 1070/V56 would be too much, unless it also looks out of this world.

a 970 is faster than a 780 and the 1060 is a lot closer to the 980 ..so a (fairly)modern equivalent would be a 970
and yeah it is a bit high for minimum

A 780 is somewhere in-between a 1050 TI and a 1060..... closer to 1060 though, but still a good ways off..... and you can grab them used for a bit less than a new 1050 TI..... honestly they're still pretty viable cards if you overlook the piddly amount of VRAM..... I'd have to agreee though that this game would likely run on a 760 if it can run on a 280, unless it's heavily geared towards AMD cards for a change, lol.

closer to a 1050ti you mean ?
because the 1060 is way faster than a 970(most benchmarks put it on par with a 980 minus a couple frames) and the 780 is around 10% slower than a 970

According to Game debate it actually sits square in the middle between the 1050 ti and the 3GB 1060.... benchmarks I've seen however place it much closer to a 1060 than a 1050 ti.... I don't mean like within a couple frames, but like shwere it would be beating the 1050 ti by 20 frames, it would only be losing to the 1060 by around 10 frames.
