Bandai Namco has unleashed a brand new character trailer for Soulcalibur VI, revealing three familiar faces joining the roster, as well as an all-new contender. We see all four fighters in action, as well as a few sneak peeks at some super moves.
Long-time Soulcalibur fans will be pleased, and immensely unsurprised, to see Kilik, Nightmare, and Xianghua step into the arena once again. They’re joined by newbie Grøh, who’s equipped with a long blade and can be split up into dual blades. He looks like a bit of a fast mover, and ability to weapon swap could make him a tricky opponent.
My man Kilik is the standout for me though. He was my character of choice in the original Soul Calibur, probably because he was a little bit noob friendly. You can pull off some brutal combos with that staff of his fairly easily and he’s got pace and fantastic reach.
The other two are both Soulcalibur stalwarts to. Nightmare is an absolute brute with a gigantic sword. He’s huge, lumbering, and extremely powerful. His special ability has him riding into battle atop a ghostly horse and trampling an opponent. Lastly, there’s Xianghua, who’s the polar opposite of Nightmare. She’s all about graceful movements, light attacks, and kicks, out-maneuvering her opponents to secure the victory.
Soulcalibur rarely disappoints, and this time it’s gracing us with its presence on PC. Soulcalibur 6 be launching later in 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
