Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia will be out on April 19th, Creative Assembly has announced. They're trying something a little bit different with this spin-off, drilling down to a critical flashpoint in history - it's 878 AD and Britain is about to enter a tumultuous period of warfare between the Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Gaelic clans and Welsh tribes. Don't get caught on the battlefield with your pants down though, here are the system specs you'll need for TWS: Thrones of Britannia.

Thrones of Britannia is based on a revised version of the Total War: Attila codebase, but that doesn't mean the system requirements are anything alike. Instead, Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia's system requirements are actually much more in line with Total War: Warhammer 2.

Down at the lower end, the minimum system specs for Total War Saga are fairly forgiving. All you'll be needing is an old dual-core processor paired up with any mid-range graphics card from the last five or six years. Provided you're DirectX 11 capable, you're probably good to go. The one slightly curious thing is the 5GB minimum RAM recommendation. That's not something we often see, although it's usually a telltale sign that a game just flat out won't run on a 4GB system. Certainly something to bear in mind if you're hoping to run Thrones of Britannia on a low-end system.

As for the recommended specs, they're par for the course, staying pretty much in line with Total Warhammer. We're looking at video card at least 4GB VRAM, so a more modern card could be a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or equivalent. Thrones of Britannia also benefits from a quad-core processor if you want larger armies, all the better for its epic battles.
