Sony’s PlayStation Plus service has been loaded with some absolute duds over the years, but all is quickly forgiven when they’re bundling it games like Bloodborne. The PlayStation Plus lineup for March has been revealed, and subscribers to Sony’s online service will gain access to the mighty Bloodborne and the excellent Ratchet & Clank remake.

Now, I’m not going to call these free games because they’re most certainly not, you’ll only be able to download and play these games for as long as you’re a PS+ subscriber, which is about £50/$60 a year or £7 a month.

The full lineup includes Bloodborne and Ratchet & Clank for PS4, Mighty No. 9 and Legend of Kay for PS3, and Claire and Bombing Busters for PS Vita. Quite a lot of tat there, truth be told, although it’s more the made up for by the presence of the PlayStation 4 exclusives. You can subscribe for a month for about £7 here in the UK, so if you still haven’t played Bloodborne yet then this probably the cheapest way to do it.

As well as the games, Sony had quite an important update to share. From March 2019, PlayStation Plus will only be including PS4 games. No more PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita games will be included in the service. And, well, about time really. By next March the PS4 will be over five years old, and the PS3 will 13 years old, it’s definitely time to stop catering for the older system.

“Many of our fans are playing on the PS4 platform, with the increasingly vast number of PS4s in homes around the world,” Sony said.

“We’ll continue to prioritise the benefits you receive through your PS Plus membership, such as online multiplayer, online game save storage, PS4 monthly games, and exclusive PS Store discounts across content and network services.”

Anybody tempted to give Bloodborne a shot at this price?

I feel like everyone who's ever wanted to play Bloodborne has already caved and bought a PS4 by now. Can't really see how much they have left to gain by not bringing the game to PC.
Even if we assume there's a thousand people left on the planet who'd buy a PS4 for it, there's gotta be a few million who'd play it on PC
