EA appears to have let slip the existence of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 3 via an Amazon listing.

A fairly innocuous page for a PvZ comic book to tie in with the online shooter has revealed the news. The description for the comic by Paul Tobin says “Paul Tobin returns to write the official comic book bridge between video games PvZ: GW2 and PvZ: GW3 with Tim Lattie returning to deliver artwork.”

Whoopsie.

EA hasn’t even so much as hinted that Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare would be back for a third outing, so we can only assume this has leaked long before EA was ready to reveal the news.

If I were a betting man I’d guess the hope was to reveal PvZ 3 during its EA Play event in early June, although the surprise factor has now been torpedoed.

I messed around with Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 and I have to say I came away impressed. It’s built on the Frostbite engine and looks fantastic, while there’s heaps of variety to the different character designs and skills. It’s Battlefield by way of Splatoon, although at the time I’d got the impression that the sequel hadn’t done particularly well. Obviously it did though if EA has justified a third-outing for the multiplayer third-plant shooter.
