Roll up, roll up, get your freebies, red-hot freebies. Over on the Humble Bundle, they’re giving away The Darkness II for absolutely nothing and there are no strings announced.

You’ve got until 1pm ET tomorrow, March 28th, to grab it for yourself. All you’ve got to do is add it your basket and go through the checkout process. A Steam code will then be fired over to the email address linked to your Humble account. Nice and simple.

The Darkness 2 features Jackie Estacado, the superpowered New York crime boss wielding a malevolent, tentacled forced known as, well, the Darkness. It’s a first-person shooter at heart, but one which allows for some genre-bending powers. Oh, and with the tentacles, you can wield four guns at the same time, which is never a bad thing.

I’m of the position that the original The Darkness is a fair bit better than The Darkness II, but I know the sequel has plenty of fans for its more action-oriented gameplay.

Amazing game, but I prefer play it on Playstation 3. I know, weird, but I'm a weird person.

So the protagonist is a villain? Nice!

Not often we get villain protagonists. The last of such I saw was Light from Death Note.

The only other 2 I can think of is the player character of Tyranny and the guy known as "The antagonist" from Hatred. I really should play Tyranny some time.

Dracula in that game is an anti-hero, not a villain, in my book.

No, an anti-hero is a hero that lacks attributes of your conventional hero.

As an example, Wario will save the day but really only does it if there is something for him to gain, this typically involves money or treasure as evidenced from the games.

Of course all anti-heros are different and thus have different qualities that make them such. Batman is another example as he is not beyond breaking the law to stop criminals and will often beat them until they tell him what he wants to know.

There are more examples but I feel as tho that is enough. I strongly suggest you do your research.
