It's a crying shame we've never got a sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade -Bloodlines, but in the meantime, Life is Strange developer Dontnod is hoping to fill the void with Vampyr, a narrative-driven action-RPG set in 1918 London that places the emphasis on player choice. There's plenty of potential in this one, but will you need a human blood sacrifice to the dark gods to run it? Here are the official Vampyr PC system specs.

Vampyr Minimum System Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i3-2130 3.4GHz or AMD FX-4100 3.6 GHz
  • RAM: 8 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 2 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon R7 370 2GB
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • API: DirectX 11

Vampyr Recommended System Requirements for 60 FPS High @ 1080p

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 4 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • API: DirectX 11

Vampyr Recommended System Requirements for 60 FPS High @ 1440p

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 8 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • API: DirectX 11

Vampyr Recommended System Requirements for 60 FPS High @ 4K

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.2 GHz
  • RAM: 16 GB System Memory
  • GPU RAM: 11 GB Video Memory
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
  • HDD: 20GB Available Hard Drive Space
  • API: DirectX 11

If there's one thing you can bank on, it's that any game published by Focus Home Interactive treading the line of average AAA system requirements almost perfectly, and Vampyr is no different. Down at Vampyr's minimum system requirements, we see a couple of graphics cards that are the equivalent of the PS4 and the Xbox One - either a GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon R7 370 2GB. These will be fine for playing Vampyr at solid frame rates on Low graphics, but you will miss out on some of the nicer effects.

The recommended requirements for Vampyr, meanwhile, are pretty much geared towards mid to high-end PC gamers.4GB VRAM is necessary for the best visuals, paired with a surprisingly high-end hexa-core CPU. This seems like Dontnod might be overegging the Vampyr system requirements a bit and a decent quad-core processor isn't going to run into any trouble.

Lastly, the 16GB RAM requirement. Unless something's gone drastically wrong, Vampyr is never going to make use of 16GB RAM. You may want to have 12GB just to be on the safe side, but it's difficult to see 8GB users struggling to run Vampyr.

For those lucky enough to be shooting for 1440p or 4K, the good news is that the only change to Vampyr's system requirements is the graphics card. 16GB RAM, a Core i7-3930K or Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, and 20GB HDD space will be fine even for 4K. However, the graphics card requirements obviously go up steepling. A Geforce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX Vega 56 is required for 60fps at 1440p, while the mighty GTX 1080 Ti is needed for 60fps at 4K. AMD doesn't offer a single-GPU solution that can match the 1080 Ti, although the Radeon RX Vega 56 is likely to be able to run Vampyr at 4K with a mix of Medium and High graphics settings.

Ah, and if all that isn't enough for, Dontnod has also sent along a bloodcurdling new story trailer for Vampyr. There look to be a few minor narrative spoilers in there so tread with caution if you want to go into the game fresh at launch.

As ever, remember you can always check out how well your PC can run the Vampyr System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users. Compare your graphics card to the Vampyr GPU benchmark chart and we also have a Vampyr Frames Per Second system performance chart for you to check.

Our favourite comments:

I don't understand why this game isn't getting the amount of attention it should be getting? I hate that EA gets more attention just from screwing people over!

These sys reqs came a s a surprise. I thought Vampyr was going to be like the studio's other games. A well-polished game without the AAA fanfare. Interesting to see what the game actually brings.

Though I do like what I see.

So many ppl in the comments with i7 and 980/980Ti s saying their pc is getting old. :|

What about us i5 folks then?

Technically you could give 4k a try and probably get 30 FPS on Med-High. If that 20% GPU OC is true you're around 1080 Ti performance, so maybe even 60 FPS. But it's hard to say for sure.

base clock is 1604 pretty sure, but its more of a 15%-20% oc for some reason even when my clock is at 2400 mhz on my gpu it only goes to 2100-2200 mhz, not sure why, but theres plenty of voltage going through it, 10/2 power phase maybe temps, idk i would have to check clocks while monitoring it during firestrike, i'll try 4k, but from what i've seen wtih firestrike it doesnt quite reach 1080TI speeds it is still a bit faster then the 1080.

Yeah, I must have been dreaming saying you could reach 1080 ti performance lol. My mistake about that and best of luck.

A 20% OC is not gonna overcome a 1100 Cuda core deficit...

I actually have some Firestrike Benchmarks pending, for my 1070ti that put me right next to the 1080oc'd in firestrike, but my benchmarks have yet to be verified by GD admins, just waiting for that.

So @1440p HIGH says it needs 8gb gpu ram but @4k HIGH only needs 4gb gpu ram?

I really love "Victorian England themed" games such as Dishonored and Thief so i really look forward to this game but i am afraid that it will be short just like The Order 1886, which was quite disappointing. 20 GB HDD req worry me a bit.
